At Hofmann Apiaries we have started the interior demolition of the Wax Shed that surrounds the new cement floor. We want this space to be more welcoming to visitors where we host one of our static displays. Larry is especially hard at work.

Hard not to admire these freshly picked Iris’s from our bee-friendly garden today. Thanks Joanie.

May 20th is World Bee Day. It serves to recognize the importance of honeybees to our food supply and beekeepers who work with these fascinating pollinators.

This seems like a good time to post our 2026 flyer for Hofmann Apiaries Bee Bash 4.0. Add August 1st to your calendar and please help us get the word out by sharing our posts.

What a lovely weekend with warm temperatures and sunshine. Here at Hofmann Apiaries I can hear the soft roar of bees hard at work on the apple trees, pea pear tree, and oh my goodness, don’t we all have beautiful crab apple tree blossoms? Here are a few pics . . .

Jason Casey’s bees arrived today at Hofmann Apiaries. I’m beginning to loose track of the years which is a good thing. We love Jason’s Sun Honey! Ellen’s (Larry’s mom) tulips budded just in time to welcome the bees.
The tulips sit nicely in front of the trellis that Larry built. And I want to point out the Soleri wind chime that you can hear in the video that I’m about to post.
Here’s to another year of beekeeping Jason! We so appreciate you and the bees.

During the month of April we recognize volunteers who truly make a difference. Without Joan Mooney, our horticulturist, we would not have the beautiful bee-friendly garden that she manages. Yesterday was her first day back in the garden. Thank you Joanie. (July 2024 photo).
