The Jasonville Police Department is currently accepting applications for the position of Full-Time Police Officer.
All applicants must meet all pre-employment minimum requirements and complete all testing and screening components of the hiring process. The testing and screening process may include all or some of the following: Physical Agility Test, Written Examination, Department Panel Interview, Background Investigation, and interviews with Administration and Board of Public Safety. The results of this process will be used to compile a list of candidates for future Full-Time Police Officer vacancies.
Pre-employment Minimum Requirements:
 Must be a United States Citizen.
 Must have a High School Diploma or GED equivalent; education beyond high school is preferred.
 Must possess a valid Indiana driver’s license or be a non-resident with a valid driver’s license in your state and be willing/able to obtain an Indiana driver’s license.
 Must be at least 21 years of age but less than 40 years of age; or be a Veteran with 20 years of armed forces service with a maximum age of 40 years and 6 months.
 Must be able to pass thorough background investigation.
 Must or will meet all residency requirements required by Indiana statute as defined in I.C. 36-8-4-2.

It is with a very heavy heart that Jasonville Police Department announce the loss of two of our retired Officers. Retired Assistant Chief Don Fish and Retired Chief of Police James Gadberry both passed away during the early hours of Thursday, September 25, 2025. Their legacy and dedication to service will live on through our department. We ask that you please keep their family, friends and JPD in your thoughts and prayers.

Last week Officer Skylar Scott was awarded the Department's Life Saving Award for his role in rescuing an 18-year-old man who fell through the ice in February. Officer Scott is also the department's physical tactics instructor and spent the evening teaching Greene County law enforcement officers how to survive and use the appropriate amount of force during a physical encounter. Thank you, Officer Scott, for your dedication to our community!
