Brad Hochgesang for Indiana State Senate

Brad Hochgesang for Indiana State Senate I'm Brad Hochgesang. I'm running for Indiana Senate, District 48 because I believe everyone deserves a voice in our state government.

Spoke to the College Dems at the state convention about why District 48 is winnable. The reddest seat in Indiana is in play, and the people here are ready for someone who'll fight for them instead of Mike Braun's machine. We need volunteers. 👉 www.bradh.org

Caught up with Mary Allen at the park on Thursday. Mary's running for Congress, Tiffanie Arthur's running for State House, and I'm running for State Senate. Three offices, one thing we agree on: these seats belong to the people, not to whoever's holding them.

Here's the thing, no matter who you usually vote for. You can send all three of us to work and trust you'll be represented. We do the homework, we ask the people, and we get to work.

These are strange times. All the more reason to send me, Mary, and Tiffanie to work this November and hold your government accountable.

🔊 Sound on! Yes, that's me doing the chicken dance at the Schnitzelbank. No regrets. 😄 Great night meeting folks from all over who came for the glockenspiel — this is why I love this part of Indiana. 🍻

Here's the yard sign.

If you'd like one, you can sign up at the link below. Signs will be available this fall, closer to the general election, and we'll let you know when they're ready. Sign-ups are free.

If you're in a position to chip in to the campaign, that link is below too. Every dollar from a neighbor goes further than a dollar from a PAC, and it shows up in everything we're able to do between now and November.

Two more things, in case you're new here. We're not running a campaign that asks you to pick a team. Most of what a state senator works on is not partisan. We're running a campaign that asks you to expect more from the people who represent you, and we're trying to earn that expectation one conversation at a time.

If you've shared a post, talked to a neighbor, or shown up to a meeting in the last few weeks, thank you. It's working.

A couple years ago, my wife and I bought what we thought was going to be our forever home. Within a month, we learned it was in the path of a billion-dollar highway.

The realtor knew. The brokerage knew. The city knew. The county knew. The state knew.

Nobody told us.

That moment changed me. Not because of what might happen to the house. Because of what I learned about how decisions around here actually get made.

I gave a speech at the Spencer County Democrats JFK Dinner last weekend. It's the short version of why I'm running for State Senate in District 48. If you've ever called your representative and never gotten a call back, if you've ever shown up to speak and found out the vote was already taken, I think you'll recognize a lot of it.

Republicans and Democrats agree on more than people in Indianapolis want you to believe. Starting with this: when we send somebody to represent us, they ought to know which way is home.

First time I've ever voted for myself on a ballot. Strange feeling. Maggie didn't seem to mind.

Felt great voting for everyone, especially Mary Allen for Congress and Tiffanie Arthur for State House 63.

There's still time. Polls close at 6.
