Then & Now from Jack Dunn
W.H. Dry Goods rented this building in the late 1960s. Wendy Holmes purchased the property from Cora Rogers in 1974.
Mrs. Frankie Whitfield and Mrs. Carl Whitfield later purchased the property from Wendy Holmes, owning it for about a year before selling it to George and Brenda Weaver in 1993.
During the Weavers’ ownership, the building became known as the Crowe’s Nest — a place many Jasper natives remember fondly. When the owner of the Crowe’s Nest decided to return to Calhoun, 61 Main moved into the location.
Several owners purchased the property between 2013 and 2015.
Today, the building has been rebranded from LC Taco and is now home to Tequila Bar & Grill.
