The Dubois County Highway Department will be closing Cuzco Norton Rd beginning Monday, October 12th to install a concrete box culvert. The closure will take place on Cuzco Norton Rd approximately 0.8 miles east of Cuzco Rd North. The closure is expected to last one week, barring any unforeseen circumstances. Traffic will have access up to the point of closure.

The Dubois County Commissioners appoint residents to a number of boards each year. These appointments play a vital role in our community and help make important decisions.
We are currently looking for individuals to serve in two important capacities.
First, we are looking to fill 5 positions on a new Advisory Plan Commission (APC) Board. In the most basic sense, the APC will be a nine-member board responsible for guiding land use, development, and zoning in unincorporated areas and making recommendations to the Dubois County Commissioners. Candidates must live in the unincorporated areas of the county. There will likely be one meeting per month. Statute requires a board composition with members from different political parties based on your previous primary voting record.

The second board position is on the Northeast Dubois School Board. The appointed member will serve on the board to govern the public school district by setting policies, approving budgets, and hiring the superintendent. We would like to have a member with financial experience to help the district with funding and budget issues. Candidates must live in the NE Dubois School District.

Dubois County is happy to recognize a great staff member from Dubois County Community Corrections. Last month, Darlene Merkel completed 20 years of service to Dubois County.
Mrs. Merkel is a Corrections Officer and has responsibilities including the supervision of program participants, enforcing facility rules, and ensuring safety. This is trying work and we appreciate everything she does.
