☀️🏊 SUMMER POOL REMINDER 🏊☀️

With summer temperatures heating up, we understand that everyone is looking for ways to cool off and enjoy the season. However, we want to remind everyone that apartment complex swimming pools are private amenities and are not open to the general public.

If you are at an apartment complex pool and the resident is not physically present with you, simply having their permission is not enough. You may be subject to Criminal Trespass charges if you are on the property without authorization.

Many apartment complexes in our community have signed Enforcement Authorization Agreements with the Jasper Police Department. This allows officers to take enforcement action when unauthorized individuals are found on the property or using private amenities such as swimming pools.

These apartment complexes and their residents pay for and maintain these amenities for the exclusive use of their tenants and authorized guests. They are not public facilities.

We are not trying to put a damper on anyone's summer fun, but we do want to make sure everyone understands the rules and the potential consequences before finding themselves in an avoidable situation.

Please respect private property, follow the rules of the apartment complex, and help us keep our community safe and enjoyable for everyone.

Please join us in welcoming Breanna Jordan to the Jasper Police Department family as our newest Part-Time Dispatcher!

Breanna currently serves as a dispatcher with the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office, and we would like to extend a sincere thank you to Sheriff Chuck Havard for graciously allowing her to assist our department as well.

Adding Breanna to our communications team will help provide much-needed relief and flexibility for our dispatchers when someone is sick, on vacation, or needs time off. This additional support will also help reduce overtime demands on our staff while ensuring we continue providing the best service possible to our community.

We are excited to have Breanna as part of the team and look forward to working with her. Welcome aboard, Breanna! 👏🇺🇸

🚨 CATALYTIC CONVERTER THEFT PREVENTION 🚨

The Jasper Police Department would like to remind citizens to stay alert and take precautions to help prevent catalytic converter thefts. These thefts can happen quickly and often occur during nighttime hours in parking lots, driveways, or areas with limited lighting.

🔹 Park in well-lit areas whenever possible
🔹 If available, park inside a garage or near security cameras
🔹 Consider installing motion lights or surveillance cameras at your home
🔹 Vehicles that sit higher off the ground, such as trucks and SUVs, are often targeted more frequently
🔹 Be alert to unusual noises — a loud roaring sound when starting your vehicle may indicate your catalytic converter has been stolen
🔹 Consider engraving your VIN number on your catalytic converter to help identify stolen property

If you observe suspicious activity, especially individuals underneath vehicles or using power tools late at night, contact law enforcement immediately.

Working together as a community helps keep Jasper safe.
