The Pickens County Republican Party believes that the principles of the party should be based upon the precepts laid down by the founders of the United States Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

We believe that good government is based upon the individual and that each person’s ability, dignity, freedom and responsibility must be honored and recognized. We also believe that Free Enterprise and the encouragement of individual initiative and incentive have given the United States an economic system unparalleled in history. We further believe that Americans should value and preserve their feelings of national strength and pride and, at the same time, share with people everywhere a desire for peace and freedom and the extension of human rights throughout the world.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has adopted recommendations by a new group of vaccine advisers, and has stopped recommending COVID-19 shots for anyone. More at the link in the comments.

Federal agents were ambushed by ten vehicles during a patrol in suburban Chicago in what officials call a coordinated act of domestic terrorism. Shots were fired, an armed suspect was wounded, and local police reportedly fled the scene.

REST IN PEACE: Master Firefighter Preston Lee Fant, a 21-year veteran of DeKalb County Fire Rescue, will be laid to rest today.

Fant died in the line of duty while battling a warehouse fire. He was trying to rescue a fellow firefighter when he became trapped inside the burning structure.
