Here’s how it works:
✔️ Pick up an approved sharps container at the Dubois County Health Department Drive Thru (Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM)
✔️ Return your filled approved sharps container on a scheduled collection date
✔️ Receive a new sharps container at drop-off

⚠️ Important: The Dubois County Health Department will only collect approved sharps containers on scheduled collection dates and through the Drive Thru.

Give the gift of life this summer! ❤️🩸

The Dubois County Health Department is excited to partner with the American Red Cross to host a community blood drive on Wednesday, July 29, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. ET in the health department education room.

Blood donations are always needed, and just one donation can help save up to three lives. We encourage community members to roll up their sleeves and make a difference for patients in need.

♻️ Reminder: Sharps Collection Day is June 4! ♻️

The Dubois County Health Department is excited to continue our Sharps Collection Program in 2026 to help residents safely dispose of used sharps.

📅 Next Collection Date: Thursday, June 4
🕣 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
📍 Dubois County Health Department Drive Thru

Residents can drop off their approved sharps container and receive a new sharps container during the scheduled collection event.

Need a container first? Sharps containers are available for pickup through our Drive Thru Monday–Friday from 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

⚠️ Please note: We can only collect approved sharps containers on scheduled collection dates and through the Drive Thru.

💪🌸 Keep Moving with Our Women’s Summer Series! 🌸💪

We’re excited to partner with LifeSpring Health Systems and BLOOM Maternal Health to bring you our Women’s Summer Series—a fun, 6-week lineup focused on women’s health and wellness.

Join us on Wednesday, June 10, 2026 from 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM as exercise professionals from the Tri-County YMCA lead a session on movement and physical activity. This session will discuss:
✔️ The importance of moving our bodies
✔️ Safe ways to stay active
✔️ Tips for building healthy movement into everyday life

Each session includes an activity and time for questions, creating a welcoming environment for women of all ages in Dubois County.

⚠️ Registration is required due to limited class space. Separate registration is required for each class, so feel free to join one or attend them all!

Reminder: Registration is open for the DNR ATV Safety Training!

The Dubois County Health Department is excited to partner with the Indiana Department of Natural Resources and Forest Park FFA to offer this FREE ATV Safety Training course for Dubois County youth ages 6–18.

🕘 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. ET
📍 Ferdinand Community Center

Participants will learn about:
✔️ Indiana ATV laws
✔️ Safe vehicle operation
✔️ General ATV safety tips

PLUS — all participants who complete the course will receive a FREE ATV helmet! 🪖

We’re excited to partner with LifeSpring Health Systems and BLOOM Maternal Health to bring women in Dubois County a fun and informative 6-week series focused on women’s health and wellness.

We’ll be joined by Mariah Bauer, MSN-RN for a discussion on women’s mental health. This session will explore:
✔️ Signs and symptoms of distress
✔️ Stigma surrounding mental health

🦷 The Dubois County Health Department is excited to partner with Indiana Dental Outreach Mobile Dentists to provide a special day of dental care for children in Dubois County!

Children ages 18 months to 18 years can receive:
✔️ Dental cleanings
✔️ Exams
✔️ Needed treatment

All children in Dubois County are welcome! Private insurance and Medicaid will be billed, and a sliding fee scale is available for families without coverage to help make care affordable.
