Below is a statement from the Pickens Historical Society regarding particular posts relating to “ghosts and stories” made by groups not affiliated.

“The post is completely false. No ghost ever reported or even any local tales of hauntings in this building; No one is known to have ever died in a fire at the courthouse, though it did burn once but not on the date listed.

As the local historical society, we are disappointed to see, even with a ghost story, such complete fabrication of history.”
