Notice! 🔔

⚠️🚨⚠️🚨Pickens County Emergency Management, in coordination with county and city public safety agencies and the Pickens County Public School District, will be holding a public safety exercise at Harmony Elementary School on July 30th.

Please keep in mind that this is a drill. There will be increased public safety vehicles in this area during the exercise.

𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐬 𝐮𝐩! - 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐂𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞 🗣️🇺🇸

All Pickens County Government Offices will be closed Friday, July 3rd, in observation of the Fourth of July. This excludes the Recycling Center, which will be open Friday and closed Saturday. We will return to normal business hours on Monday, July 6th!

Work is officially underway on the Henderson Mountain Road paving project! 🚧

What you’re seeing now is not the finished roadway. Over the next several days, crews will be placing the leveling course, which is an important step in preparing the road for its final layer of asphalt.

During this phase, the road will likely look patchy or uneven in places. That’s completely normal and expected. Once the leveling course is complete, crews will return to install the final layer of asphalt, giving the road its smooth, finished surface.

Thank you for your patience as we work to complete this project. Please continue using extra caution while traveling through the work zone!

Today, the Pickens County Water and Road Departments will close at 12:00PM to allow employees the opportunity to attend the funeral service of Will Logan.

Will was the son of one of our own, Greg Logan, and was well known to many members of the Pickens County family through Greg's years of service in both the Water Department and Public Works. This loss has deeply affected those who know and care for Greg and his family.

In honor of the Logan family, we ask our community to keep Greg, his family, and all who loved Will in your prayers as they navigate this difficult time.

Normal business hours will resume tomorrow.
