**Calendar Update: Court will only be held the 3rd Wednesday of each month going forward.

NOTICE OF FILING OF TENTATIVE ASSESSMENT ROLL
(Pursuant To Section 506 - Real Property Tax Law)
Notice is hereby given that the Assessor for the Town of Java, County of Wyoming, State of New York, has completed the 2026 Tentative Assessment Roll, and has filed a copy thereof with the Office of Town Clerk. The Tentative Roll is available for inspection at the Java Town Office, 4222 Route 98, North Java, during regularly scheduled hours, and also on Wyoming County’s website: https:// www.wyomingcountyny.gov

The Assessor, or someone designated by the Assessor, will be in attendance with the Tentative Assessment Roll May 11-22, Monday – Thursday from 10am – 6pm by phone, and in person on the following dates and times (you may visit either office):

Monday May 11th from 5PM – 7PM (Gainesville office; 2 Toolhouse Rd., Gainesville)

Tues, Thurs, & Fri May 12, 14, & 15th, from 1PM – 6PM (Java office)

Saturday May 16th from 11AM – 3PM (Java office)

Thursday May 21st from 1PM – 6PM (Java office)

Tuesday May 26th from 12Noon – 4PM (Arcade office; 7340 Route 98, Arcade)

Thursday June 4th from 12Noon – 4PM (Java office)

NOTICE OF MEETING OF THE BOARD OF REVIEW
(Pursuant To Section 512 - Real Property Tax Law)
The Board of Assessment Review will meet for the purpose of hearing and examining all written complaints in relation to assessments on Thursday, June 4, 2026 from 4-8pm, at the Java Town Hall, 4222 Route 98, North Java; Appointments for Grievance are recommended.

Please call 585-689-9533 to schedule an appointment time.

Complaint forms (RP-524) must be completed and brought to the appointment to be heard by the Board of Assessment Review. A publication titled “How To File For A Review Of Your Assessment” and complaint forms are available online at http://www.tax.ny.gov/pit/property/contest/contestasmt.htm. Forms can also be obtained from the Assessor or from the Wyoming County Real Property Office.

You should check your assessment annually prior to Grievance Day (typically the fourth Tuesday in May, but confirm the date with your assessor).

Hello Java!
**Last Day to Pay your town tax bill in JAVA will be Tuesday March 31st, Clerk office Hours 9a-3p. after that - Taxes must be paid at the county office.
**The town is still accepting bids for lawn care maintenance for the Town hall and Cemetarys - Bids will be Opened at the Town Board meeting April 9th, 2026
**Planning Board Meeting Scheduled for Tuesday 3/24
**ZBA Meeting Scheduled for Tuesday 3/31
**Regular Board meeting With Public Hearing for Charter Communications Franchise Agreement is scheduled for April 9th, 2026

As many are aware, there have been candidates for the Wyoming County Sheriff republican primary election going around gaining signatures for their petitions to be on the Republican primary ballot on June 23.

A few things to remember….

‼️first and foremost - know your candidates! As far as im aware the candidates running for the Rep. primary are Matthew Sage, Chance Sampson, Jason Linderman and Colin Reagan.

‼️You must be a registered Republican in Wyoming county for your signature to be valid.

‼️you can only sign one petition, if you were unaware of this and sign multiple - the first signature would be upheld and your second would be considered invalid. If you signed more than one petition on the same date-Both would be invalid

‼️each candidate has to obtain at least 500 signatures by the beginning of April in order to be on the Republican primary ballot In June.

Although this Isn’t directly a town issue- the Wyoming county sheriff election effects us all! At this time I am unaware of any Democratic candidates seeking nomination, if I hear of any, I will pass on that information!
