NO SCHOOL TODAY

We are sorry for the late notice, but we were just notified about the possibility of no water today on our campuses due to an emergency water repair in town. Due to this, Jay Public Schools will not be in session today, Thursday, September 3rd. This also includes all J-club activities (before and after school). Thank you.

Dear Jay Public Schools Families,

It is an honor and a privilege to introduce myself as the new Superintendent of Jay Public Schools. As I begin this journey, I want you to know how excited I am to work alongside our students, staff, families, and community members. Jay has a proud tradition, and I am grateful for the opportunity to help build upon that foundation.
Over the coming weeks and throughout the upcoming school year, you will hear us frequently talk about a guiding principle that shapes our decisions, expectations, and culture at Jay Public Schools:
The Standard is the Standard.
We want our families to understand what that means and why it is so important to our mission.
At Jay Public Schools, we believe school is about much more than earning grades; it is about preparing students for life. Every assignment, challenge, and activity provides an opportunity for students to grow, develop character, and become the best version of themselves. While academic success is important, our greater purpose is helping students develop the maturity, responsibility, resilience, and integrity they need to succeed long after they leave our classrooms.
When we say “The Standard is the Standard,” we are expressing our belief that every student, teacher, and staff member is capable of growth, accountability, and excellence. It is not simply a slogan, it is a commitment to uphold high expectations for everyone, regardless of circumstances, challenges, or backgrounds.
Our mission is to create a culture where every student grows academically while developing strong character. Our responsibility is not to lower expectations, it is to help every student reach them.
As parents and guardians, you are essential partners in this work. Together, we can help students understand that challenges are opportunities for growth, accountability builds character, and success comes through effort, perseverance, and support.
You will continue to hear us reference “The Standard is the Standard” because it serves as a reminder of who we are and what we believe. It reflects our commitment to preparing students not only for graduation, but for life.
The Standard is the Standard. We don't lower expectations, we raise support. Thank you for your partnership and for trusting us with your children each day.
