🚔 CLICK IT OR TICKET 🚔

The Jeanerette Police Department will be participating in the “Click It or Ticket” campaign from May 19 through June 1 to help keep our community safe.

Chief Terrance Moore Sr along with the Jeanerette Police Department reminds everyone that wearing your seat belt is one of the simplest ways to save your life in a crash. Every trip. Every time. Day or night.

Statistics show that seat belts reduce the risk of fatal injury to front-seat passengers by approximately 45%. Thousands of lives are saved each year because drivers and passengers choose to buckle up. In a two year span, approximately 563 people have lost their lives in a motor vehicle accident while unrestrained.

Unfortunately, many people who lose their lives in crashes were not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident. In many fatal crashes, unrestrained occupants are ejected from the vehicle, greatly increasing the chance of death or serious injury.

💺 Seat belts:
✔ Save lives
✔ Prevent serious injuries
✔ Keep you secure inside the vehicle
✔ Protect your passengers
✔ Are required by Louisiana law

No text, phone call, or short drive is worth risking your life. Buckle up before you put your vehicle in drive.
