Last night, Penn Township fire companies took part in a night burn at the Westmoreland County Community College PSTC!

Crews faced a variety of realistic scenarios, from a vehicle fire that extended into a home to a house fire with reported entrapment.

Our junior firefighters had a unique opportunity to observe fire growth and flow paths from the outside, giving them a front-row seat to how fire behaves in real time.

This training gave all members a chance to sharpen their skills, and it also allowed our newer officers to practice and strengthen their command abilities.

A huge thank you to the Instructors and all the Penn Township Fire Company members who made this night possible! Your dedication and hard work continue to make a difference.

February 17th at 22:28, units were dispatched to a reported garage fire with explosions, on the East side of the township. Upon arrival Chief 106 confirmed a working fire in a detached garage. There were various explosions assumed to be from compressed gas and oxygen cylinders being stored in the garage. Township firefighters along with neighboring companies fought the fire, dealing with frigid weather conditions and frozen hydrants. No injuries occurred during this incident.
