In Loving Memory of Council Member Charles "Chuck" Comstock, II
The Governor's Council on Disability is deeply saddened by the passing of our esteemed Council Member, colleague, and dear friend, Charles "Chuck" Comstock, II.
Chuck was a fearless, tireless champion for the disability community across Missouri. An Air Force veteran, past president of RAIL, advocacy specialist, and longtime Council member (2010-2026), Chuck dedicated his life to breaking down barriers and opening doors for others.
Whenever Chuck encountered an obstacle, he did not see a limitation, he saw an opportunity for innovation. With his trademark ingenuity, practical creativity, and determination, he designed adaptive tools and custom solutions to conquer daily challenges and prove that accessibility is always possible.
His impact reached deeply into the next generation through his mentorship at the Missouri Youth Leadership Forum (MO-YLF). Chuck’s wisdom, encouragement, quick wit, and natural gift for storytelling inspired countless young leaders to embrace their potential, advocate for themselves, and lead with pride. His humor brought warmth and levity to every meeting and room he entered.
Above all his accomplishments, Chuck's greatest pride and joy was his family. Our thoughts, prayers, and deepest condolences are with his beloved wife, Melissa, and his cherished daughters, Arianna and Bianca.
Thank you, Chuck, for your leadership, service, and friendship. Your legacy lives on in the lives you touched and the barriers you tore down. Rest in peace. 💙
