Taking care of our community near and far. Recently, we received a donation from another department and we stated that if we couldn't use it, we would find a department that could. Due to unfortunate circumstances, a department was in need not long after receiving said donations. We were also able to send other items as well. Thank you Whitehall Volunteer Fire Department for taking the time to deliver those items along with the other donations that you collected.

JCVFD would like to thank T'ings Tavern for their very generous donation to the fire department by way of this fundraiser.

We are grateful to all the participants who took part in the ride, and are thankful for the community-minded folks at Tings.

Who likes pretty lights, full moons and night rides?!?!
Come join us this coming Friday night!

The overflow of support from T'ings is absolutely immeasurable. Thank you!

Not even five minutes after getting back from an incident and the chief was getting dunked, wildland gear and all. We won't make those smiling faces wait.

FYI: Please read for more information about Stage 1 restrictions.

[Thursday, August 13th, 2026] The Jefferson County Commissioners voted during an emergency session this morning to implement Stage 1 fire restrictions for private lands in Jefferson County effective at 12:01am on Friday 8/14/26 due to high fire danger and limited fire response resource availability. The resolution prohibits campfires on all private lands in Jefferson County except in the City of Boulder and the Town of Whitehall, where fire restrictions are managed by those jurisdictions. State and federal lands are managed by those agencies and may also have separate fire restrictions. The public should visit https://www.mtfireinfo.org/ to view areas with fire restrictions in Montana. The duration of the restrictions will be dependent upon the long-term fire danger outlook and resource availability. While Jefferson County may receive areas of precipitation through the rest of this week, the forecasted amounts will not be sufficient to substantially impact wildfire danger. Gas BBQs or other simliar appliances that can be turned on and off are exempt from the fire restrictions.

Driving our Brush truck to Whitehall VFD to pick up the infamous dunk tank and a structure fire call comes across the radio for their department. Then is corrected to a wildland fire. There is water in my truck and I am not about to drive by without asking if they want my help. I got the thumbs up and made my way.

For about 1.5 hours, a member of the Whitehall Volunteer Fire Department and I worked together spraying water while other teams from Whitehall, Harrison, Forest Service and DNRC worked on other areas. The fire was estimated at 2.5 acres and is under investigation.

This is what we are all about, helping eachother in their time of need. Because honestly, this fire could've been so much worse.

It is hot and dry out, please don't make any risky decisions that you don't want to pay for.

This is absolutely disgusting and heartbreaking. As volunteer firefighters, we dedicate a majority of our free time to the fire department. Our department alone has provided 193 hours on incidents between January 1st and July 24th. We have also attended 728 hours of training between July 1st, 2025 to June 30th, 2026. Imagine doing all of that to arrive at your station and realize that you can't even go to a call due to someone's selfish and ignorant actions.

Saturday, Aug. 15th is our annual community day. In regards to the incident at Blackfeet Fire Rescue, we will have a donation table setup. Please stop by, check out the event and drop a few dollars into a firefighter boot.

Today, we were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident on Boulder Hill. Thankfully the car took most of the damage. Besides some whiplash and a scrape, there were no injuries that we knew of.

But....

If you see us out on the roadway, wearing our gear with those amazing lights and wee woos on, SLOW DOWN!! We might be smiling but we definitely would rather be at home. But, accidents happen and people need help. That's where we come in. So, if we're smiling and giving you a wave or thumbs up, you're doing great. If we're not smiling, pointing at you, showing you (specifically you) our slow sign and mouthing "slow down", I think we're trying to tell you to... Slow Down!

Check out Move Over Montana for more information. Because we want to make it home in one piece, too.

Picture of our Chief and Assistant Chief for attention.
