Pictured below is First Responder Ed Savage, CCEMS Deputy Chief David Boyles, and First Responder Blake Savage. Chief Boyles presented Ed and Blake CCEMS Challenge Coins. This was in recognition of Ed and Blake assisting CCEMS on an emergency call. The family of who the call was for wanted to show their appreciation for the professionalism and level of care that was provided by both the First Responders as well as CCEMS so they wrote a Thank You letter and sent it to the Presiding Commissioner. The family made the comment that they were even unaware that Ed and Blake were not part of the EMS crew. That is part of the mission of the First Responders. We volunteer our time to assist Cole County EMS when emergency EMS calls are in the county. Thank You to the family that recognized all of the responders. Thank You to Deputy Chief Boyles and CCEMS for sharing the recognition with the first responders. And especially Thank You to Ed and Blake Savage and all of the volunteers of the Cole County Volunteer Medical First Responder Squad for your time and talent to assist in the communities we live in.

Although Cole County has recently experienced a rise in positive cases, the percentage of positive cases, or positivity rate, continues to stay at only 1% of all tests being performed. The number of positive COVID-19 cases is expected to rise as more testing is being done across the state and in our own County. You can visit colehealth.org or health.mo.gov to find more information regarding testing.
