Missouri Police Chiefs

Missouri Police Chiefs The Missouri Police Chiefs Association is a major force in law enforcement activities in Missouri because of its diverse, active, and statewide membership.

Since 1953, the Missouri Police Chiefs Association has provided members with the resources they need to enhance performance and ensure continued success and effectiveness. The membership roster, which includes over 600 members, is a virtual "who's who" list of notable local, state and federal law enforcement executives living and working in communities throughout Missouri.

Law enforcement is more than a job - it is a daily commitment to face the unknown. Every time an officer puts on the badge, they accept a profound responsibility to protect and serve, knowing the risks involved.

On Peace Officers Memorial Day, we pause to remember the heroes who answered that call and never made it home. We honor their dedication, their professionalism, and their ultimate sacrifice. May we always remember their names and live lives worthy of their protection.

⚖️ On Tuesday, April 23, 2026, Governor Kehoe signed Missouri House Bill 2641 (HB2641), also known as the Intoxicating Cannabinoid Control Act, into law.

This legislation establishes strict regulations on h**p-derived products, effectively banning the sale of intoxicating h**p products outside of state-licensed ma*****na dispensaries.

House Bill 2641, also called the Intoxicating Cannabinoid Control Act, will prevent intoxicating THC infused products from being marketed and sold to children.

Intoxicating THC products, packaged like candy, cookies, cereal and other treats have been sold in our gas stations and convenience stores. Some of our members have reported overdoses among juveniles due to the availability of these products.

The Missouri Police Chiefs Association has been working to help remedy this situation for the last three years, and wants to thank our State Government: Governor Mike Kehoe, Senator David Gregory, Representative Dave Hinman, Attorney General Catherine Hanaway and the many others who supported this endeavor to help us better protect our young people, and keep our communities safe.

Your Association in Action:

⚖️ On Tuesday, April 7, 2026, Governor Kehoe signed Missouri Senate Bill 888 (SB888) into law.

Many of our members worked through The Police Chiefs Legislative Coalition in a collaborative effort with the Sheriff’s Association and the Fraternal Order of Police to educate our law makers and move this forward.

These changes will help victims of juvenile crime and protect our communities.

Great work to everyone involved including Senator Nick Schroer, Representative Brad Christ and Governor Mike Kehoe, along with all our other legislators who supported this public safety endeavor.

⚖️ Child Protection: Enhances penalties for s*xual offenses against minors and updates regulations concerning child s*x trafficking.

⚖️Law Enforcement Coordination: Enhances data sharing between law enforcement and prosecutors to create a more robust juvenile criminal history database.

Today, we proudly celebrate the completion of the 16th Missouri Police Chiefs Charitable Foundation / Lincoln University Command College Session by watching 41 amazing law enforcement command staff - from all across the state - graduate from our program, several of whom will move on to complete a Master's Degree from Lincoln University.

Inside the classroom - these law enforcement professionals have received months of specialized training on a wide variety of leadership skills and strategies that leave each individual better prepared to grow, lead, and positively shape the field of law enforcement in the communities they serve, and beyond.

Outside the classroom - a peer support network has been developed, and friendships have been made - some that will last a lifetime.

We are honored to have spent the past six months watching this class learn and grow, and we wish them each the very best in the future. We congratulate these fine law enforcement leaders, and the agencies that invested in them.

Law Enforcement - "being a cop" - isn't just a job. It's a calling. One that requires a level of commitment, courage, and sacrifice that many other jobs do not. Working holidays. Missing family time. Running towards the unknown. Repeatedly facing what so many others fear...then doing it again.

Today, the Missouri Police Chiefs Association joins the nation on National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day to acknowledge the brave men and women who selflessly choose to wear the badge. We honor your courage, we salute your sacrifice, we THANK YOU for your dedication to service. 💙🖤💙
