Monday Morning thoughts:

“All you have to do is change your world, and that is how the world changes.” Chad Pregracke - Living Lands and Water.

The quote was confusing to me at first- there is no way I or any cleanup group can get all that plastic and other crap out of waterways.

But maybe that is the change to my world, the realization, once again, that I am a blip in time, the universe is much bigger than me.

I have to chuckle that besides the people at the epic Harlow Island Trash cleanup, I saw online that at least 3 friends happened to be elsewhere doing the same thing yesterday, changing the world by changing their world.

It adds up, we make friends, the change spreads, and more people have a long-term view and make the world a little better while we are here.

We become good ancestors.

We were so lucky to have had the state herpetologist, Jeff Briggler, come out a teach an exclusive Stream Team Academy workshop for Stream Team volunteers! Jeff taught all about aquatic herps and where to find them. The field portion took volunteers to a wetland to try their hand at herping themselves!

Stream Team Academy is a series of workshops for Stream Team volunteers where you can dive deeper into a stream related topic. Let us know what topics you would like to see at future workshops!

Why should you submit an Activity Report after participating in a Stream Team Activity?
1. Activity Reports help us track volunteer hours and show the statewide impacts of Missouri Stream Team.
2. Activity Reports help us secure funding and support for future programs, trainings, and events.
4. Submitted hours help us recognize and celebrate volunteer contributions throughout the year.
6. Each submitted Activity Report can enter you into volunteer prize drawings and recognition opportunities.
7. Your data and participation help tell the story of how communities are working together to protect Missouri’s streams.
