Missouri job postings decreased by 11.7 percent from July 2025 to July 2926, with 70,510 online postings this July. Heavy and Tractor Truck Drivers saw the largest increase in demand, while Retail Salespersons experienced the biggest decline. This weeks Trendsights also highlights new Census data on global aging trends. Adults age 65 and older are projected to make up nearly one-fifth of the world's population by 2060, with the U.S. expected to rise from 18.9 percent in 2025 to 23.4 percent.

Missouri's new QCEW interactive dashboard brings clearer insight into employment and wage trends across counties, MSAs, workforce development areas, and industry sectors. This week's Trendsight highlights the Southwest Region where 95,681 workers were employed in 2023. About 70.9 percent lived and worked within the region, while 29.1 percent commuted in from outside areas. The top counties where Southwest WSA residents hold private primary jobs are Jasper, Newton, Greene, Barry, and Lawrence.
