The FACT is an organization that supports 20 Community Partnerships across Missouri. Together they focus on the well being of children and families in MO.

The Family and Community Trust (FACT) is a non-profit corporation established in 1993 with a board comprised of nineteen members drawn from the top leadership in state government and the private sector. It governs the work of the twenty official community partnerships across the state. The board’s mission is to promote and support effective public/private partnerships and community involvement to

develop innovative solutions for improving the lives of Missouri’s children and families. FACT harnesses the power of the private sector to help state government implement solutions that are best for their communities.

The 2026 KIDS COUNT® Data Book from Annie E. Casey Foundation takes a close look at the family and community factors that help to shape a child’s life and future.
Missouri's rank in the Family and Community domain for 2026 is 27. In 2019, Missouri's score for this domain was 559 out of 1,000, and in 2026, that score increased to 651. It is also better than the average national Family and Community score for 2026, which is 608.

Experiencing poverty during childhood can disrupt all aspects of a child’s life, from their physical and mental health development to their performance in school.
The Economic Well-Being domain rank in Missouri for 2026 is at 15. In 2026, Missouri received a score of 700 out of 1,000 for this domain, where in 2019, the score was 605. To better the state of child health across the U.S., it’s essential we continue working to improve maternal health, so that children start their lives as healthy babies — setting them on a path towards optimal health from the very beginning.

Missouri ranked 34 in Health in the 2026 KIDS COUNT Data Book. The domain score in 2026 is 534, better than the 497 score received in 2019. Early learning opportunities, such as preschool, play an essential role in preparing children for kindergarten and setting them up for long-term educational success. However, access to early childhood education programs remains uneven, with many families struggling to access and afford high-quality programs in their area.
This year, Missouri ranked 29th in the Education domain. The 2026 cumulative score for Missouri is 383, whereas the 2019 score was 546. Missouri’s score is also lower than the national average for Education, which is 417.
