Smiles, splashes and strikes!

Families recently gathered at Osage View for an Odyssey respite event in Osage County, where children enjoyed an afternoon of swimming, duckpin bowling and time with friends.

Odyssey respite events give caregivers a chance to take a break while their children enjoy safe, supervised activities. Whether that means getting something to eat, catching a movie, running errands or simply taking a nap, respite can provide a much-needed moment to recharge.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for a great day of fun. We loved seeing so many smiling faces and can't wait for the next event!

Back-to-School Care Pack registration is now open.

CMFCAA’s Back-to-School Care Packs help foster, adoptive and kinship families prepare for the school year by providing supplies to supplement back-to-school shopping.

Care Packs are available for foster, adoptive and kinship children entering kindergarten through 12th grade for the 2026-2027 school year.

This year, Care Packs have been updated based on family feedback and available funding. Families should note that packs are meant to supplement back-to-school shopping, not cover a child’s entire school supply list.

Please register each child and include their gender, grade entering and placement type.

Deadline to register: July 10, 2026

Make an account first (if you haven't already), then register. You can do both here: https://mofosteradopt.com/programs/direct-services/

Shop the Trunk in June for a chance to win summer fun items!

Caregivers who visit and shop at one of CMFCAA’s brick-and-mortar Trunk locations during the month of June can enter for a chance to win a summer fun giveaway.

Each time an eligible caregiver shops at The Trunk in June, their name will be entered into that location’s drawing.

The drawing will take place Monday, June 30, with one winner selected at each participating Trunk location:
• Jefferson City
• Rolla
• Osage Beach

Each location will have the same or similar summer items available in its giveaway, including pool toys, swim gear, outdoor fun items and more.

Any caregiver eligible to shop The Trunk may participate. No appointment is necessary. The Trunks are open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Winners will be notified by phone on June 30 and must pick up their prize by July 10.

We are running very low on boys’ summer clothing in all sizes, and we could use your help.

CMFCAA currently has a good backup supply of girls’ clothing, but boys’ summer items tend to go quickly. We know boys can be tough on their clothes, and right now we are especially in need of new or gently used boys’ summer gear.

Other needed items include shorts, T-shirts, lightweight pajamas, summer shoes and other warm-weather clothing in all boys’ sizes.

All hygiene donations must be new and unused.

CMFCAA has Trunks in three of our four office locations: Jefferson City, Osage Beach and Rolla. Our Columbia office does not have a Trunk, but it does accept donations for The Trunk.

Donations may be dropped off at any CMFCAA office from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Thank you for helping us support foster, adoptive and kinship families with the items they need most.

Meet Lane.

Lane is hoping for a family who will help her feel safe, loved, and supported as she continues building the life she dreams of.

Lane is a 15-year-old Caucasian girl who describes herself as “funny, always trying my best, and never giving up on building a good life.” This straight A student would love to be the person in your life who reminds you to slow down, notice the little things, and practice self-care, which are all very important to her. People in her life describe her as kind and helpful. She enjoys skateboarding, volleyball, going to the mall, and making people laugh. This Valentine’s Day-loving sweetheart has a gift for remembering and giving directions and is an ear-wiggling expert. If she could have any superpower, she would choose teleportation so she can go to Australia to learn for herself if the spiders there are as big as everyone says. Lane is hoping for a mom and a dad who will help her feel safe and loved.

All family types will be considered for Lane. She has a few significant connections to maintain following placement. Financial assistance may be available for adoption-related services. For Missouri children, both home-studied and non-home-studied Missouri families are encouraged to inquire; only home-studied families from other states should do so.

To inquire, please email Destiny Anderson at [email protected]. Please provide your phone number, licensing worker's name and contact information, and attach a copy of your licensure and home study documents for faster processing.
