Yesterday, MML Executive Director Laura Holloway joined a panel at the Mid-America Regional Council's Managers Roundtable in Kansas City to discuss major legislation, emerging policy trends and the evolving relationship between state and local government.

Alongside Shanon Hawk, Executive Vice President of AT Government Strategies and John Goodyear of the Kansas League of Municipalities, the panel shared insights from the legislative session and discussed what city administrators and managers should be watching as preparations begin for the next session.

The Missouri State Fair is officially underway!

From showcasing Missouri agriculture to celebrating local traditions, the State Fair is a reminder of what makes our communities strong. Cities and towns from across the state play an important role in creating vibrant places to live, work and visit, and events like the State Fair bring us all together.

As fairgoers make memories over the next several days, we're proud to support Missouri's municipalities and the local leaders who help communities thrive.

Start the day at 11 am with the 2026 Missouri State Fair Opening Ceremony, followed by a special ribbon cutting for the new Governor Michael L. Parson Arena and the dedication of the Hayden Plaza. The Arena will be open to Fairgoers from 11 am to 3 pm for everyone to explore and enjoy.

Then saddle up for the International Pro Rodeo Association at 6 pm and watch the action unfold with an evening of rodeo thrills!
