The Gibbs Center for Independence features three, state-of-the-art, training kitchens; advanced technology; adjustable tables; spacious restrooms and laundry facilities; a high-tech sensory room and wall-size monitors to display environment-altering visuals. In addition to its facility updates, the Gibbs Center offers highly trained staff and a registered nurse on duty throughout the day. With thr

ee new vans, the program offers choices to clients, including a daily outing into the community. The Gibbs Center has strong partnerships with businesses in the metro area to provide a network of assistance to the Gibbs Center.

We are so excited to announce Terrence Allen as our Senior Director of Adult Day Services at UCP Heartland!

In this role, he will oversee Adult Day Services locations in St. Louis and Jefferson City. With more than 20 years of experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, he is committed to advancing person-centered services, developing strong teams, and creating opportunities for individuals to reach their fullest potential.

He holds a bachelor’s degree from Missouri State University and a master’s degree from Lindenwood University. He is also a certified instructor in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) and Frontline Leadership Training, helping equip staff to provide safe and effective support.
