To help protect the health of parks, as well as the safety of our visitors, several Missouri state parks will be temporarily closed for scheduled managed deer hunts.

These controlled hunts are an important conservation tool that help prevent overpopulation, reduce damage to natural habitats and maintain a balanced ecosystem within the parks. We have worked closely with Missouri Dept. of Conservation to plan and coordinate these hunts.

Please note the following parks will be closed to the public during these dates:

- Dr. Edmund A. Babler Memorial State Park - Nov. 6-8.
- Crowder State Park - Dec. 4-6.
- Cuivre River State Park - Oct. 31-Nov. 1.
- K**b Noster State Park - Dec. 4-5.
- Lake of the Ozarks State Park - Dec. 5-7.
- Long Branch State Park - Nov. 7-10.
- Mark Twain State Park - Nov. 7-8.
- Pomme de Terre State Park - Nov. 6-8.
- Robertsville State Park - Nov. 7-8.
- Stockton State Park - Nov. 5-8.

It's a booo-tiful weekend for some Halloween fun in Missouri state parks!

We're serving Halloween fun this weekend...no bubbling cauldrons, just solid programming and maybe one or two suspicious rustling noises in the woods.

Join us for hikes, crafts and activities guaranteed to raise your spirits (in the non‑ghost way… probably).

Oct. 23, from 4-7 p.m. - Trick or Treat Night at Bollinger Mill State Historic Site.
Oct. 23 at 6:30 p.m. and Oct. 24 from 11 a.m. - 7 p.m. - Frightfully Fun Fest at Onondaga Cave State Park.
Oct. 24, from 10 a.m. -4 p.m. - Rural Heritage Day at Felix Vallé House State Historic Site.
Oct. 24, from 10 a.m. - 7 p.m. - Fall Fun Event at Wallace State Park.
Oct. 24, from 1-4 p.m. and Oct. 25 from 3-5 p.m. - Roaring River Halloween at Roaring River State Park.
Oct. 24, from 3-7 p.m. - Spooktacular at Wakonda State Park.
Oct. 24, from 4-7 p.m. - Stockton Spooktacular Soiree at Stockton State Park.
Oct. 24, from 4-6 p.m. - Spooktacular at Arrow Rock State Historic Site.
Oct. 24, from 5-8 p.m. - Halloween Happenings at Johnson's Shut-Ins State Park.
Oct. 24, from 5-8 p.m. - Public Halloween Event at St. Francois State Park.
Oct. 24 , from 6-7:30 p.m. - Campground Decorating and Trick-or-Treating at K**b Noster State Park.
Oct. 25, at 6:30 p.m. - Full Moon Hike at Crowder State Park.
Oct. 26, at 8:15 p.m.- Hunter's Moon Hike at Mastodon State Historic Site.

Happy !

Today we honor the numbers that keep Missouri State Parks running smoothly, such as data like how many hikers actually read the trail map before getting lost, where the closest restroom is, or how often someone asks if this hill is the last one. Spoiler alert: it rarely is.

We know he's outstanding, but now it's official! Lee Wilbeck, our interpretive resource coordinator, was honored with the Outstanding Professional Interpreter award by the Association of Missouri Interpreters!

This award recognizes interpreters who go above and beyond in connecting people to the natural and cultural heritage of Missouri State Parks. Through creativity, passion and a deep commitment to meaningful visitor experiences, Lee continues to inspire and elevate interpretation across the state.
