Township Progress Update

We’re continuing our work across the county, moving from township to township as we complete our assessment work. Township 14 is currently in progress, and we’ll move on to the next township as each area is completed.

We’ll continue to update and repost this map as we progress, allowing you to follow along as we work our way through the county.

We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we work our way across the county!

The construction on Tanner Bridge is progressing nicely. All of the girders have been set and the contractor is finishing up the deck panels. Next step is to tie steel and pour the deck.

The Assessor’s Office is beginning fieldwork for the 2027 countywide residential reassessment.

Over the coming months, staff will visit properties throughout the county to verify only exterior information, including building dimensions, additions, garages, outbuildings, exterior condition, and other physical characteristics.

Inspections are exterior only. Staff will not request entry into your home. They may need to walk around the property to photograph all sides of the home and verify exterior characteristics.

A few important things for residents to know:

Staff will wear fluorescent safety vests and carry official identification.

A door hanger will be provided at each inspection.

Neighborhoods will also receive postcards notifying property owners that inspections are taking place in their area.

An inspection does not mean your property value has changed. This is a normal step in the reassessment process and helps us maintain accurate property records.

Questions? Please contact the Cole County Assessor’s Office. Thank you for your cooperation as we begin this important work.
