By now, you're aware that Missouri's Medicaid program will eliminate coverage for chiropractic services effective July 1, 2026.

We know this decision directly affects your practice and the patients who rely on you for care, and we want you to know that MCPA is fighting this on every front.

WHAT THE MCPA IS DOING

In response to this cut, MCPA has launched a coordinated advocacy effort, including:

We are meeting with the Governor's Office, the Department of Social Services, and MO HealthNet on Tuesday, July 7th to make the case directly to decision-makers that this cut harms patients and increases downstream healthcare costs. We will share an update on the outcome of that meeting.

We are meeting with legislators (including budget chairs in the House & Senate) to demand restoral of the cuts at the earliest opportunity. We have issued a press release to bring public attention to the impact of this decision and are actively engaging with media outlets across the state to keep the story in front of policymakers and the public. This has garnered significant attention from media outlets throughout the state.

We are running a social media campaign to mobilize patients, members, and the broader public around this issue, and we encourage you to amplify these messages within your own networks.

We are hosting a webinar July 9th at 6:30 PM to walk members through the situation in detail, answer questions, and outline how you can get involved. To get signed up to attend, please click the link below.

We recognize this is frustrating, and that frustration is justified. This cut was a decision made by the Missouri General Assembly and the administration, not a reflection of the value chiropractic care provides. MCPA is committed to pushing back on this decision and working to restore coverage, and we need your voice in that effort.

Please review the attached materials and don't hesitate to reach out with questions. We'll be in touch soon with additional details and ways you can get directly involved.

8 AM - 12 PM: Making Your Documentation Work for You: From Basics to Self-Auditing

The saying, “If it isn’t written, it didn’t happen,” couldn’t be more relevant for healthcare practices. Poor documentation can lead to major issues during audits, as incomplete or unclear records may not hold up to scrutiny. Chiropractic boards and third-party payers set specific documentation standards, making it essential to know what’s required and who will review your notes. The Office of Inspector General (OIG) also recommends that providers self-audit to ensure compliance with these standards. This session offers practical strategies to help you enhance your documentation skills, making your records audit-ready and strengthening your practice’s overall compliance.

1 PM - 5 PM: Brilliant Basics: The Key to Higher Reimbursement and Lower Risk

Brilliant Basics gives chiropractic teams the practical skills to run a more compliant, efficient, and profitable front office. This four-hour course simplifies patient workflows, coding, documentation, Medicare, billing, and collections so staff can prevent costly mistakes and communicate with confidence. Attendees leave with proven procedures and an action plan they can put to work immediately.

Missouri chiropractors and their patients received devastating news: chiropractic services have been cut from Missouri Medicaid, effective July 1, 2026.

This decision was made without transparency, without public debate, and without notice to providers or the patients who depend on this care. Thousands of Missouri's most vulnerable residents will lose access to chiropractic services at the start of the new fiscal year.

MCPA is fighting back. We are actively working with members of the Missouri General Assembly and the Governor's office to restore this critical coverage. We will not stop until chiropractic care is back on the table.

More updates to come. Stay informed. Stay engaged.

Dr. Mark Sanna the CEO of Breakthrough Coaching will present: The Do's and Don’ts of Integrative Practice.

Attendees on Thursday will learn to recognize common compliance risks, billing errors, and operational mistakes in integrative practices.

You'll be able to explain the rationale and benefits of multidisciplinary practice models for patients and providers, distinguish between chiropractic-only, medical-only, and whole-being health multidisciplinary care paradigms.

Course Description

The healthcare landscape is rapidly evolving, with increased collaboration among chiropractors, medical physicians, physical therapists, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants becoming a practical necessity for comprehensive patient care.

This continuing education program provides Missouri chiropractors with a clear, compliant, and strategic roadmap for developing, owning, or participating in multidisciplinary practices (MDPs) within Missouri’s unique and progressive legal environment.

This course examines the philosophical, clinical, operational, and legal foundations of integrative practice, emphasizing that multidisciplinary care is not a departure from chiropractic principles, but rather an extension of conservative, patient-centered care.

Your membership just got more valuable.

We’ve added Statusfi, a comprehensive compliance platform that monitors your practice’s progress, to your membership benefits at no additional charge.

Competing solutions can start at $5,000 before add-on fees. 49% percent of patients say they would leave after a ransomware breach, and regulators issued $39 billion in fines last year.

Statusfi helps you keep those numbers away from your door. Members can log in using their MCPA profile email and password below.

Statusfi covers the four compliance areas every Missouri chiropractic practice needs to stay current:

• HIPAA - patient privacy requirements and staff obligations
• Federal - OSHA, employment, and federal regulatory requirements
• State - Missouri specific statutes and board rules, reviewed by association counsel and leadership
• Business - advertising standards, telemarketing rules, record keeping, and more

What makes it practical:

• Logs in with your existing membership email and password (no new account)
• Work through it on your own schedule
• Dashboard shows progress across all four compliance areas at a glance
• State content links directly to primary law and official sources
• Reviewed by the association's attorney and leadership

Requirements change. Audits happen. Board complaints don't come with a warning.

About Dr. Hashimoto:

Naota Hashimoto, DC, is a chiropractor, technology co-founder, and healthcare systems strategist. After recovering from a head- on collision through chiropractic care, he dedicated his career to helping patients and improving clinical outcomes.

Dr. Hashimoto built a multi-million-dollar practice in La Quinta, CA, and later co-founded TrackStat, a AI automation suite for chiropractic EHRs now used in over 1,000 clinics nationwide. His work focuses using AI automation to help practices increase patient visits through treatment plan adherence and reducing operating costs through automation and integration.

His mission is to help chiropractors operate a more profitable practice, raising the medium income, which will drive more students to consider chiropractic as a career path moving forward. Higher incomes won’t fix everything, but it does make it easier for chiropractors to joint their association and support the profession.
