Happy Labor Day weekend! 🇺🇸

The fabric of our country is woven by hard-working Americans who show up every day, work with purpose, and help build stronger families, communities, and a stronger nation.

I pause to honor the dedication and determination of the Missouri worker.

Wishing everyone a well deserved, safe, and restful Labor Day! 🇺🇸

Together, we make a difference for Missouri.

Thank you for this recognition, I’m beyond thankful for our farm community.

I value the opportunity to serve on behalf of Laclede, Wright, Douglas and Webster Counties at the state level and you have my word to continue keeping the voice of rural Missouri loud and clear in the decisions made in Jefferson City.

Each decision I make is made with our rural Missouri values in mind.

Now more than ever we commit to stand strong with Missouri Farmers.

Thank you for your service!

After more than 31 years of dedicated service to Laclede Electric Cooperative, Phil Menley retired on Friday, August 14th. To celebrate his outstanding career, friends, co-workers, and family gathered for a reception to congratulate Phil on his remarkable achievement.

Phil began his career at LEC on April 10, 1995, starting as a Laborer. He completed his apprenticeship and advanced to Service Lineman in 2000, then was promoted to Crew Foreman in 2002.

For the past six years, Phil has served as District Operations Supervisor in Lebanon. His leadership has left a lasting impact, especially through his training, mentorship, and guidance of fellow linemen. We are deeply grateful for his many contributions and the wealth of knowledge he has shared throughout his career. We thank Phil for his unwavering dedication and wish him all the best in his well-deserved retirement.

🧍🏻‍♀️-state representative Melissa Schmidt, district 141

08/20/2026

I recently heard an elected official state that she didn’t seek office to give speeches and attend events… her goal in seeking office was to impact future generations.

I couldn’t agree more.

Giving speeches and attending events is part of the work I do as your state representative, but it was not the motivating factor when I asked for your vote in 2024.

My motivation has been and will always be making sure the generations behind us are impacted positively by the work we do and Missouri remains a place they want to call home.

My first two years in office have been successful on behalf of Missouri kids and families with several pieces of legislation becoming law.

We still have much work to do….not only on behalf of children and families, but also on behalf of veterans… On behalf of business… On behalf of healthcare access… on behalf of education…And on behalf of law-enforcement and safer communities and the protection of our rights including the first right , the right to life.

Goals have been met, but we still have much work to do.

Together, we make a difference for Missouri.
