The National Weather Service in Peachtree City has issued a Red Flag Warning for low humidity, high winds, and dry conditions, which is in effect from 11 AM to 8 PM EDT Saturday.

* Affected Area...North and East Georgia

* Timing...From 11 AM until 8 PM EDT on Saturday

* Winds...W to NW at 10 to 15 MPH with gusts of 25 to 30 MPH.

* Relative Humidity...20 to 25 percent

* Temperatures...65 to 75 degrees

* Impacts...Any fires that develop could spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is strongly discouraged.

The U.S. National Weather Service (NWS) has just issued a red flag warning for parts of Georgia. Remember - if you are in an area under a red flag warning, no outdoor burning. Firefighter Eli Bell was injured a week and a half ago, and is still recovering from surgery and injuries. The family is accepting donations to help with medical bills and other necessities while he is out of work. Eli was previously employed by our department, and is well known in our community. Our hearts go out to him and his family through this time of recovery.

Congratulations to the first Banks County firefighter recruit class and especially to one of our own volunteers Wes Martin

Congratulations to the first ever Firefighter recruit class! These folks worked hard all summer training to become certified Firefighters. Today, we celebrated their accomplishment with a luncheon in their honor.

We are excited for their future here with Banks County Fire & EMS.
