It’s National Night Out. We’re here at City Hall until 7pm unless the food runs out first!

08/04/2026

National Night Out is still a GO for Jefferson. We are aware of other area cancellations…and the heat… and the air quality.🥵 Unfortunately, the heat and air quality will not be any better over the next couple days and the food we’ve already invested in and started prepping will not keep that long, so rescheduling is not an option. We will still be here serving taco plates, there will still be live music, yard games, and a place to wet your feet/legs. While we do understand if you can’t or choose not to come out, we do hope you will join us, even if it means that you grab a plate and take it back home.

City Hall will close at 4pm today to begin setup of National Night Out.

Our hearts are heavy as we process the loss of our dear friend, Edna.😢 The community has lost someone whose impact can never truly be measured. For decades, Edna gave her time, her talent, and her heart to Jefferson, through quiet acts of service, volunteerism, unwavering dedication, and genuine kindness with just the appropriate amount of sarcasm. Amongst the long list of accomplishments and projects she had a hand in, Edna's legacy shines in the friendships she built, the people she supported and encouraged, and the example she set for all of us along the way. Jefferson is better because Edna was here. May we honor her memory by continuing the same spirit and commitment to the community that she loved. Thank you, sweet Edna. You will be dearly missed. Another star shines in the night. 💫

Attention all residents and visitors. It has been officially announced that Ironman 70.3 Oregon will take place on July 19, 2026, right here in Salem and surrounding areas. As a result, we ask that you use alternate routes, specifically from Front St to River Rd S, continuing down to Sidney Rd, Buena Vista Rd S, Talbot Rd S, and all the way to Ankeny Hill Rd SE.

Individuals must remain vigilant for cyclists and joggers utilizing the roadways. To ensure the safety of the participants, the Marion County Sheriff's Office will be providing assistance along the route. We urge all drivers to reduce their speed through these areas and plan for extra travel time on July 19. Please share this with your South Salem neighbors. Thank you for your cooperation. City of Jefferson, Oregon, South Salem, Oregon.
