All--
The Winlink Development Team is requesting that all non-essential Winlink traffic (weekly nets, testing, etc.) be postponed until after hurricane Milton has moved on and response efforts have turned to recovery. There is still a lot of traffic in the aftermath of Helene, and we expect Milton will add significantly to that. We need to keep the gateways clear for that traffic.

For several days, radio communications were the only means of passing information. Ham radio continues to play a significant role in this situation.

Mostly sunny skies and dry weather are expected for the rest of this week into early next week, aside from a chance for showers Saturday night. Above normal temperatures will also persist into early next week, with breezy conditions likely over the weekend.

A cold front will cross southern Wisconsin tonight. Its afternoon location is over Minnesota, marked by a line of clouds on satellite imagery. Wind gusts up to 30 mph are expected along the front early Tuesday morning. A few sprinkles will be possible, but no widespread showers due to dry air. Expect Fall-like temperatures Tuesday and then 70s the rest of the week.

Scattered showers and storms will increase in coverage along & ahead of an approaching cold front over the next couple hours. Heavy downpours and gusty winds are the main concerns in this activity. Brief funnel clouds are possible in some storms, particularly those forming along an approaching cold front.
