Event extended (area). Flood Watch from 5/26/2026 12:14 AM to 11:00 PM EDT for 30549.

FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT THROUGH THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.

* WHERE...Portions of central, east central, north central,
northeast, and west central Georgia, including the following
counties, in central Georgia, Butts, Jasper and Putnam. In east
central Georgia, Greene. In north central Georgia, Barrow, Clayton,
DeKalb, Fayette, Gwinnett, Henry, Morgan, Newton, Rockdale and
Walton. In northeast Georgia, Banks, Clarke, Jackson, Madison,
Oconee and Oglethorpe. In west central Georgia, Spalding.

* WHEN...Through this evening.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Multiple rounds of rainfall are expected to move across the area
through late today. An anomalously moist environment will persist
over north Georgia, resulting in high rain rates and increased
chances for flash flooding. Convective rainfall (showers and
thunderstorms) may repeatedly train over areas, and have locally
high enough rainfall rates to induce flash flooding in urban
areas and areas with poor drainage, as well as creeks and streams
prone to flash flooding.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood
Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared
to take action should flooding develop.

🎓 Jefferson High School Class of 2026 Graduation Update!! 🎓

Please note the graduation ceremony has been moved to The Arena at JHS due to weather concerns.

After careful consideration of our graduates and guests and due to the unpredictable nature of tonight’s weather, the Class of 2026 graduation ceremony has been relocated into the JHS Arena on the JHS campus.
The ceremony will be streamed live at two different links (the stream is the same at both links). Both links will be available in the first comment on this post. Links are also available on the Jefferson City Schools Website.

Students received 6 tickets at graduation practice today. We are unable to provide more tickets, and lost tickets cannot be replaced. Tickets will be checked at the door.

Doors will open at 7:00pm. Individuals may not save seats for others; please keep this in mind as you arrive.

Please remember this was not our first choice, but that our priority is to provide a safe, high-quality ceremony for our students that will provide them with a memorable capstone to their time in high school. Everyone is going to work together to make this a wonderful evening to remember.
