It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of our valued colleague, Katheryn "Sissie" Harvey. Her positive spirit, dedication and kindness left a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of working alongside her. Ms. Harvey worked for JISD for 11 years and had retired in May 2026.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to her family, friends, and loved ones during this difficult time. Katheryn Harvey will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all of us.

Her celebration of life will be this Sunday, June 21st, from 2pm-4pm at the Mary Hall Immaculate Conception Church on Vale Street here in Jefferson.

Parents and Guardians of Grade 3-8 students have access to Spring 2026 STAAR Scores in your Parent Portal. Log into the Parent Portal (same one you use for view grades throughout the school year) and click the Texas Assessment tab.
Parent Portal will be accessible to parents/guardians from June 16-25. The system will close the remainder of the summer for 2026-27 updates and will reopen in August.

Parents and Guardians of JHS students who took an EOC (Algebra I, Biology, US History, English I, and/or English 2) in Spring 2026, the scores are accessible in your Parent Portal. Eleven Jefferson High School Band students traveled to Natchitoches, LA, last week to participate in the Northwestern State University Drum and Colorguard Summer Camp.

Senior percussionist Joshua Fultz was named “Most Outstanding Percussionist” for the camp.

Senior guard member Jocelyn Gomez and Junior guard member Joley Gates received scholarship offers for the future participation in the Northwestern State University Colorguard.

As another incredible school year comes to a close, Jefferson ISD proudly celebrated the outstanding staff members who make a lasting difference in the lives of our students each and every day.

During our annual End-of-Year Staff Appreciation Dinner, JISD Administration and School Board members had the honor of serving dinner to our dedicated staff. The evening was filled with fellowship, gratitude, and celebration as we recognized employees for their years of service and continued commitment to Jefferson ISD.

We are deeply thankful for the passion, care, and dedication our staff show throughout the year. From creating meaningful memories to guiding students toward a bright future, your impact reaches far beyond the classroom.

Thank you, Jefferson ISD staff, for all that you do for our students, schools, and community. We hope you enjoy a well-deserved summer break!

Six Jefferson High School students traveled to Austin on Monday, May 25, 2026, to compete in the prestigious Texas State Solo and Ensemble Contest. These students qualified for the state competition in February.

Senior Richard Snelgrove received an Excellent rating and a Silver medal for his clarinet solo.

The percussion ensemble directed by Mason Trumps also received an Excellent rating for their performance. Ensemble members include Joshua Fultz, Lacee Leonard, Adam Peterson, Zachary Romano, and Jose Solorzano.
