We had a wonderful day at Russell Park with Blank Park Zoo!

Families got to learn about fossil formation, mimic dinosaur habits and characteristics with a fashion show, and explore the relationship between fossils and how they contribute to our growing understanding of dinosaur anatomy. Spoiler alert: some had feathers instead of scales!

Our kids got to meet two of the zoo's Animal Ambassadors: Eli, the three-banded armadillo and Fergus, the whistling plumed duck.

Thank you so much to Nikki and Ben for making the trip and putting on a great program for our community!

A little* rain never hurt anybody.

Thanks to all of our librarians for sticking it out for a wet and wild Bell Tower Festival parade! Scroll through for pictures of our "Greene County Legends and Liberty" award-winning float. Thank you to the Bell Tower team and Rotary Club for putting on this event and thanks to our patrons and loved ones for braving the weather on our route!

Families that have recently welcomed a new baby can stop by the Youth Department and receive two free board books from our "Books for Babies" programs, sponsored by our Friends of the Library.

Our summer programs for youth start next week!

Join us on Monday, June 15 from 10 - 11 AM for summer storytimes with ages 0 - 6...featuring a special guest. Then meet up with us the very next day on June 16 from 1 - 2 PM for Blank Park Zoo's "Zoo to You" live animal presentation at Russell Park.

Don't forget: our youth library programs are open to the public this summer! Have a grandkid visiting for a week or the in-laws for the weekend? Bring them by to these amazing events all summer long.

Registration is open for our 2026 "Unearth a Story" Youth Summer Reading Shin-Dig! To celebrate, we're giving you sneak peeks of what to expect for each age group this summer.

Don't forget! This year's a little different: all youth summer programs are now open to the public - no Shin-Dig registration required.
..if you DO register for the Shin-Dig, however, you can spend the summer winning stickers and prizes as well as getting closer to winning some of our grand prizes.
