How to Remove a Tick in THREE Easy Steps.
1. Use fine-tipped tweezers to grasp the tick as close to the skin as possible.
2. Pull upward with steady, even pressure.
3. Wash the bite area and your hands with soap and water.

Do not try these: Matches, ci******es, Vaseline, twisting the tick, surgical excision.

Today is our Monday Vaccine Clinic. Walk-ins are accepted between 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. today and appointments for immunizations are available for Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays. No walk-ins on Wednesdays or Thursdays.

You have to look close to be sure, but -- blacklegged ticks are in northeast Ohio. That small dot is one of the stages of the tick's life--a nymph-- and it is that small compared to a pen-point! However, it is still large enough to carry disease. Be careful of any stage in a tick's life.

A Beach Hazards Statement is in effect for portions of the Lake Erie shoreline, with waves of 3 to 5 feet possible. Even if you’re not planning to swim, use caution near piers, breakwalls, river outlets, and the shoreline. Conditions will also be hazardous for small craft.
