This summer, we held a Summer Reading Challenge alongside the Jefferson Public Library Summer Program to help keep our students reading all summer long!

Congratulations to our prize winners, the Bieno family, who took home some new books and other goodies to help keep their love of reading going! 🎉📖

🎶 Our Jefferson Bands have been on a roll! 🎺🥁

Students recently gave their time and effort during JHS Marching Band Camp to help make the marching band stronger and prepare for an exciting year ahead. They also had their first performance of the year! 🙌

We can't wait to see them perform again at the upcoming Gemütlichkeit Days Parade! 🎉🎶

🌟 Help us welcome the newest face to our team!

We are EXCITED to introduce the newest staff member joining our Jefferson family! Today, we're welcoming Heather Fjelstad-Bunce, our new Special Education Teacher!

Take a moment to get to know Heather below! 👇

🔴 Heather began pursuing a career in teaching when her first son was born because she wanted to be directly involved in his education. She has been in education for 32 years in some capacity, including the public school system for the past 14 years.

🟡 Heather and her husband have four sons, ranging in age from 14 to 34. Her hobbies include reading, cooking, gardening, D&D, kayaking, and riding her bike.

🔴 Heather is excited to work in the community she has called home since 2024.

⛳ The Jefferson Eagles girls golf team placed 2nd at a five-team conference mini-meet yesterday, at Delbrook Golf Course, missing first place by only two strokes! 👏

🏌️‍♀️ Sophomore Miranda Bilau shot a 49, tying for 4th place individually.

🏌️‍♀️ Freshman Kyleigh Foelker shot a personal-best 49, also tying for 4th place individually!

🏌️‍♀️ Junior Arie Schlotthauer also earned a personal-best score of 52, placing 8th individually.

Congratulations to our Eagles on a fantastic performance! ♥️🖤

The Eagles will compete in another conference meet on Tuesday, September 1, at Alpine Valley Golf Course in East Troy.

We loved seeing our students and families back in our school buildings and sharing in the excitement for the year ahead! ♥️📚

🛞♥️ A Helping Hand and a Grateful Heart!

Sometimes, the most meaningful moments happen outside the classroom.

EL Teacher Tabitha Flatt would like to share her appreciation for two members of our school community who recently came to her rescue when she had a flat tire!

Student Brandon L. spotted Mrs. Flatt from across the street and immediately came over to help with a proper jack. When several lug nuts wouldn’t come off, Brandon knew exactly who could help, saying, “We need Pilarski!” How incredible is it that our students know they can count on the caring adults in our school community? 🙌

Mr. Pilarski came over with the tools they needed, and together, they were able to finish changing the tire.

Mrs. Flatt left with a new tire, helpful advice, and a full and grateful heart! 🫶

A huge thank you to Brandon and Mr. Pilarski for stepping up, lending a hand, and showing the power of a caring school community! 👏

🌟 Help us welcome the newest face to our team!

We are EXCITED to introduce the newest staff members joining our Jefferson family! Today, we're welcoming Kirsten Prust, our new Special Education Intern!

Take a moment to get to know Kirsten below! 👇

🔴 Kirsten will be completing her internship with the district while completing her bachelor’s degree in Special Education at UW–Whitewater. She has worked in special education for the past seven years as a paraprofessional. This experience inspired her to pursue her teaching degree and become a special education teacher. Returning to Jefferson is especially meaningful because she is a 2008 Jefferson High School alumna.

🟡 Outside of school, Kirsten enjoys spending time with her two children, family, and friends. She also enjoys being outdoors, staying involved in the community, and finding creative ways to make memories with her kids.

🔴 Kirsten is most excited to come home and give back to the community that helped shape her. She looks forward to learning from Jefferson’s amazing educators, building relationships with students, and growing as a special education teacher.

❤️📚 Our back-to-school presenter, John Schu, not only inspired our staff with his message and generously shared new books with them, but he also went above and beyond for our students!

John has donated signed copies of his book, This Is a School, to give out to students! 🎉

What an amazing way to start the 2026–2027 school year and remind our students of the power of books, learning, and community.

🐐🎡 Here’s another peek at some of our amazing students who took part in the State Fair!

🏆 Peyton earned 2nd place in Communications, 10th place in Skillathon, and, along with Ella, won Educational Display!

🐐 Ella earned 2nd place in her class for breeding does and 2nd place in her Showmanship class!

👏 Colin Anfang also had a successful showing at the State Fair!

Congratulations to Peyton, Ella, Colin, and everyone who represented Jefferson with such ! We’re proud of you! 🎉💛
