Scott Fischer Memorial Fund

Scott Fischer Memorial Fund River's Edge Nature Preserve was born after the original River's Edge Meat Market had to move to higher ground due to the 2008 flood in Jefferson.

The Community has put in their time and hard work in helping us make this park possible for all to enjoy! On October 23rd, 2013 Scott Fischer lost a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. Scott was a well respected, loyal, and hardworking member of the Jefferson Community. After many years serving the community at the original River's Edge location, he was able to make another great contributi

on to the community and further his dream by opening the River's Edge Meat Market and Catering, at its new location in 2013. Because of the damage sustained in the Great Flood of 2008 the location of the original River's Edge Market has been designated as land for a nature preserve. To help keep Scott's passion and spirit alive we are seeking funds to support naming the preserve in Scott's honor. The funds will also go to the cost of a bench, plaque, plants, and other maintenance needed for upkeep at the preserve. We are seeking your support through monetary donations to help us commemorate Scott with this lasting memorial. Donations will be accepted at River's Edge or by sending checks payable to Scott Fischer Memorial Fund at River's Edge Meat Market, 521 S. Main St Jefferson WI 53549.

Want to put out a Big Thank You to the Jefferson Kiwanis for their generous donation to the River's Edge Nature Preserve. We have been working on getting the park together and maintaining it for the Community to enjoy. We appreciate everyone in helping make this park possible.

In conjunction with Tomorrows Hope, we are forming a memory garden at the Rivers Edge Nature Preserve. Annual plants are available for purchase at the Rivers Edge greenhouse in honor or memory of loved ones. Personal messages can be filled out on memory tags and will be placed next to each plant in the memory garden. They will be planted at the Rivers Edge Nature Preserve for the 2016 park season. All proceeds from the memory garden will be donated to Tomorrow's Hope.

The Sign is up at the Park if you haven't seen it! Along the paved pathway are also history markers of the Big Brown Barn that was once RIver's Edge and about the Kemmeter Family.

This Saturday at River's Edge they will be having a Cookout 10am - 2pm where all proceeds will go towards a handicap fishing pier at the Nature Preserve! Come join us for some great food and help us add to the beautiful Preserve that we all can enjoy.

We would like to express a Huge Thank You to everyone that participated in the Bowling Fundraiser for the Rivers Edge Nature Preserve. The event was a huge success thanks in part to your support and generosity. We will continue to update you on the progress of the preserve as it happens!

Only a couple days left until the Bowling Tourney on Jan. 10th. Remember all proceeds will be used to fund a Nature Preserve for the Jefferson community. You will be able to walk, bike and fish a at the Preseve on the Old Rivers Edge site.
