One Pill Kills.

Fentanyl is often pressed into fake pills or cut into street drugs, such as methamphetamine, he**in and co***ne — often without the user knowing it. And the outcome can be deadly.

During National Police Week, we pause to recognize the men and women across this country who wear the badge with honor, courage, and commitment. As this week comes to an end, the mission and sacrifice behind it do not.

I want to personally recognize the officers of the Jefferson Police Department for the work you do each day for our community. In a profession that often demands long hours, difficult decisions, and personal sacrifice, you continue to serve with professionalism, compassion, and dedication.

Policing in a small community means being more than just law enforcement. It means being neighbors, problem solvers, mentors, protectors, and trusted members of the community we serve. That responsibility is not overlooked, and it is deeply appreciated.

To our officers, thank you for standing the line, answering the calls, and representing the City of Jefferson with integrity. Your work matters, your sacrifices matter, and your commitment to this profession does not go unnoticed.

As National Police Week concludes, let us continue to remember those we have lost, support those still serving, and strengthen the partnerships between law enforcement and the communities we protect.
