It's National School Bus Safety Week and we are extending a huge THANK YOU to our dedicated Jefferson City Schools bus drivers!

Hands-on learning and global connections right in our own backyard! 🌿🐍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

The Jefferson High School Scotland Exchange students paid a visit to the JMS Outdoor Classroom! Our visitors got a true taste of the South with snacks featuring native Georgia foods and drinks, followed by some awesome hands-on activities led by our incredible 7th-grade hosts.

Together, they explored our pond ecosystem, created muscadine leaf print crafts, and practiced using traditional Native American hunting tools. Since the Southeastern US is a global hotspot for reptile biodiversity, our Scottish guests even got to interact up-close with some native Georgia snakes and turtles! 🐢🐍

A huge THANK YOU to our amazing 7th-grade students who represented JMS with such warm hospitality and led each activity so well. What a memorable day of learning and friendship! 🔴🔵

Learning how to play as one cohesive unit takes focus, practice, and a whole lot of listening! Ms. Bawcum’s 7th-grade orchestra musicians took on a fun tempo challenge game to practice ensemble unity and rhythm control.

To celebrate wrapping up S.E. Hinton's The Outsiders, our 7th-grade Dragons went retro! Students dressed up as their favorite Socs and Greasers, kicked back to watch the movie adaptation, and enjoyed iconic 1960s candy.

Huge congratulations to our JHS & JMS AFJROTC Raider Teams for an outstanding performance at the Winder Barrow Bulldog Raider Meet on Saturday, September 26th!

🥉 Mixed Team: Finished 4th Place Overall!

Students in Ms. Yarbrough’s, Ms. Weatherford’s, and Ms. Davis’s classes took their learning outdoors to soak up the sun and make the most of our brand-new courtyard!

Honoring history through dedication and endurance. 🎖️👟

Cadets from the JHS and JMS AFJROTC Dragon Group completed a demanding 14-mile hike/run in honor of the heroes of World War II.

Their march commemorated the Bataan Death March of 1942—a grueling 65-mile forced march endured by nearly 80,000 American and Filipino prisoners of war. To recognize their perseverance, commitment, and respect for history, participating cadets will be awarded the official Bataan Death March Ribbon.

We are incredibly proud of these young leaders for pushing their limits to remember those who sacrificed so much. 🔴🔵
