Good afternoon friends, we hope you're enjoying this beautiful day.

I want to give everyone a notice, starting tonight, we are paving Bluegrass Pkwy from Blankenbaker Pkwy toward Tucker Station. With the milling and paving, this should be completed Friday night. I know rain is in the forecast toward the end of the week, that could delay it a day or 2.

Adjust your schedule a few minutes if you work in this area.
They will only be working through the night to help with traffic, starting at 7pm.

If you work in the area, please spread word to others.

Thanks all

Hello friends, spring is finally upon us. Most of you will be out spring cleaning in your yards. Please be mindful to not blow the leaves left behind into ditches and water ways, this can create blockage and sediment build up.

Also, if you have a drainage pipe under your driveway, try and clear it out to prevent any ponding in yards.

Thanks for your help

Good evening friends, I want to let the public know, Plantside Drive will be officially open tomorrow by 11am. Road was paved back today. Roadway will need to be cleaned, then move traffic barricades.

Starting next week, we will keep 2 lanes open, traffic will flow both directions as this is a very wide 3 lane road. Work still to be done on hillsides of project, this can be done from outside lane. We will have traffic control in place to keep your commute flowing.

Please use caution while passing through as this will still be an active zone.

Thanks everyone for your patience with this project. Roadway open, warmer weather on the way, sounds like a great start to next week. 😀

Thank you

Good Morning friends, life is somewhat getting back to normal for all of us. No matter where you travel, use caution, a lot of roadways aren't as wide as you are used to due to plowed snow.

The snow that has been plowed is a solid rock, don't run into, it will tear a car up.

Things we are doing in phase 2:

Traveling roadways putting salt down on any areas that look problematic.

Clearing and cleaning City properties and parking areas

#1 thing we are doing, is enjoying the sun shining on us 🌞

It is bitter cold, unless you want your foot to look like Mr. Deeds, don't hang out side very long. Take breaks every 15 minutes if cleaning your drive.

Continue to help each other. It's contagious

I will leave a Pic of some of my team clearing city parking spaces.

Have a great day, stay safe, stay warm.

Good Morning friends, we hope everyone is doing great, maybe catching up on some netflix series or better yet, spending quality family time and staying warm.

I want to give a few updates, we worked through out most of the night scraping and trying to get each road cleared from what we call "gutter to gutter" with the frozen snow that has been a challenge. With the sun popping through the clouds today, we will be salting the roads, letting the sun activate it and work the roads with the plows. By end of day, with the cold temps we want to have the roads in what to our standards we call decent shape.

I want to be clear, as cold as it is, and as cold as it is going to get tonight and over the next few days, no matter where you travel, you will need to be very cautious,

Things to know:

We will continue to be in clean up mode today

If you had a mailbox knocked over from plow trucks, call the office to report it at 502 267-7273 we will get out and fix it for you.

This snow will be around for a long while, any melting will refreeze be very careful.

Be very careful cleaning your driveways, we do not need any visits to the ER or Heart Attacks

Today the sun is up, you are going to venture out, yes you have snow plowed into your driveway, you have snow plowed around your mailbox, we spoke about this for the last few days, that is the nature of the beast of an accumulated snow fall.

Check on your elderly neighbors, grab their mail, have a good conversation with them

Keep those furry friends indoors, much to cold for humans to be out in it, they're no different

Be patient, be kind

My goal is to get my team home that has been here since Saturday morning to see their families and crawl in their comfy beds and get a great nights sleep!!

We appreciate all the help you have given this team with communicating to neighbors about cars on streets and so on, "some, well, lots didnt get the memo but you gave your best and we appreciate it.

Stay safe, stay worm, we're here for you

Good afternoon Friends, we hope all of you are warm and safe, this will be the last update for today. The state of Kentucky has been declared a state of emergency as of yesterday, this continues for the coming days. I have tried to be as transparent as possible with the event. A continuous snow fall makes it very difficult to get ahead of , you keep chasing it, as soon as you plow its coveres back up. I talked yesterday about the cold weather, the temperatures are going to get really cold tonight as well as tomorrow night. If we get melting, it is going to refreeze.

My message to you, we will continue to plow the streets to get them passable, and then move into treating them with salt, if it is dark, the salt will not be effective at all until daylight breaks through the clouds. It is very possible the streets wont look the way we want them to until the afternoon tomorrow. We appreciate your patience as not only J-town, but all of Louisville is experiencing the same.

We are very thankful so many businesses are closed today to keep traffic down. We still request please stay home, some of you have no choice but go into work, we will do our very best to get you out of the neighborhoods.

Things we need:

Please, let your neighbor know, they really need to get their cars off the street.

Snow removal companies, DO NOT PUSH THE BUISNESS YOU'RE CLEANING INTO OUR RIGHT AWAYS (roadways) this is happening all over our business district

Keep the furry friends in the house, the next 2 days is really going to be critical

I have received numerous messages, "we have missed your street" we have not missed any streets, just takes time to work our way to get to them. We will cover every street to bring them to our expectations to the best we can considering the temperatures. I truly appreciate your patience with this matter. If Monday afternoon your road has not been touched, then reach out and I will make sure it gets attention immediately.

If you have the choice to work from home, TAKE THAT OPPORTUNITY

Check on your neighbors, especially the elderly

Let your faucet drip, this is the weather the pipes will burst

I want to thank my team, they have been here and away from their families the last 30hrs with no let up insight, LOVE MY TEAM!!

Please stay safe, stay warm, we're here for you

Good Morning friends, just touching base as I know everyone will be curious how the roads are, they are horrible, please stay home and enjoy the day.

We got a lot of sleet, snow and a little ice over night, our plans changed due to not having long periods of heavy snow, we went out to spot plow some areas, and they immediately freeze back over with the percipitation continuing to fall. We have made the decision, it is some what better, for our first responders Jeffersontown Police Department and Jeffersontown Fire & EMS to have some traction in the snow that is on the ground vs taking it to pavement and making it solid ice. We are going to wait for daylight hrs to make a decision as to when we go out to try and clear all of our roadways.

Please again, dont be fooled if you look outside and think, "oh its not that bad" it really is, please stay home and give us the roadway to be able to clear and clean when the time comes. We want to be able to run trucks side by side so clearing goes quicker, we will need all of the roadways we can get.

Thanks again for all your help with the storm.

Good afternoon friends, all the fun is just hours away, Mayor Carol Pike called for a city emergency meeting with Jeffersontown Public Works Department, Jeffersontown Police Department and Jeffersontown Fire & EMS, We have our plans going forward.

I want to paint a picture for all of you on how Public Works will be handling the snow event. We know this will be a long duration snow event from mid-day tomorrow to early hours of Monday morning. We have brined all the roads, do not read into that, with this event that really will mean nothing, I call it a blanket, we will do our best to time the start of the heavy snow to get out in front of it and put a layer of salt on the road. This will act as a blanket, it helps make clean up a little easier in the end. With the cold temperatures, road ways will be slick from start to finish, and into coming days Mon, Tues. Keep in mind what melts, will refreeze. With temps being so low for the next week, even in the minus degrees, salt is not very effective at temps below 20 degrees.

Now that being said, that is the plan going in, snow events like this will throw us curve balls, we will adjust. we humbly ask for your patience. Louisville is going to experience a very cold, large accumlation snow event, things will look different on our streets, we plan on plowing during the duration of the snow. We will not spead salt only to come back through to plow it off the roadways. This means the roads will still be slick. Once the storm moves out, we will move into getting to pavement.

If I had 3 recommenations for the public it would be:
*Stay Home
*Stay Home
*Stay Home

With the amount of snow predicted, I want to cover once again, and please do not read this as mean spirited, this is reality

* Your necessity runs should have already taken place, bread, milk, (

01/21/2026

Good Morning friends, as we all are watching, the snow storm predictions are all over the place right now, things will change in the next 48hrs, but the numbers we are seeing right now will be very significant. We recommend start your preperations now, if you have generators, make sure they are running, this precaution is if the storm moves further north and leaves us with a big ice storm. Make sure you have all your necessities for several days, medicines and so on. Again, we have no idea how this will play out, just watching several models and each have significant snow for here, it is the ohio valley, so that is subject to change tonight with warm and sunny ha. It is never to early to start prepping just in case.

A few reminders, please get the cars off the roadway during the storm events, if we have a large snow fall, your car will more than likely be plowed in and you wont be able to get out without doing a lot of shoveling, its going to be really cold, you dont want to do that. Public Works as well as first responders need the room to be able to safely drive down the roadways. Cul De Sacs are a must, we will not be able to plow them if cars are parked on roadways. Please talk with your neighbors and come up with some great plans

*if we get 4 inches or more, you will have snow plowed into your driveways, there is no way around that. Wait till the event is over before clearing the apron of your driveway. We receive a lot of complaints on that issue, it would be awesome if the snow melted once the plow hit it, but we all know that is impossible, we do not do this to frustrate you.

We appreciate all the help you give us with our snow storms.

While I have your attention, I want to give an update with Plantside dr, all the box culverts and wing walls have been into place, LGE has been restoring the gasline, they look to have it completed by next week. I say this with caution, with the snow storm predicted that will delay that work. Once they complete, we will be putting the asphalt roadway back into place and try and open 2 lanes, keeping one closed for the contractor to finish the work on the banks. We appreciate everyones patience with this project, we are very excited to be close to the finish line and getting this back to completely open.

We will update in the coming days on how the predictions land, also our plan of attack.

Thanks for all your help, stay safe, stay warm
