Twiggs County Public Schools invites all parents and guardians to apply for the Superintendent's Parent Advisory Council. This council creates a direct, two-way connection between families and district leadership to help shape the decisions that impact our students and schools.

Why Join the Council?

-Create Connection: Build a regular line of communication with the Superintendent.
-Share Your Experience: Help the district better understand the family perspective.
-Identify Barriers: Highlight challenges affecting student success.
-Propose Solutions: Share ideas and recommendations before challenges become larger problems.
-Strengthen Trust: Foster clear communication between families and the school district.

Meeting Details:

-Schedule: Meetings will be held quarterly.
-Eligibility: Open to parents and guardians across all schools and grade levels.
-Refreshments: Light refreshments will be provided.

Strong Roots, New Growth
Homecoming is one of our most cherished traditions—a time for Cobras from every generation to come home, reconnect, and celebrate what it means to be part of the Twiggs County Family.

As we honor our strong roots, we are also looking for new ways to help this tradition grow. We are considering moving the Annual Alumni Tailgate from Friday to Saturday. This change could give alumni, families, and friends more time to gather while reducing conflicts with student activities on Friday.

Our goal is not to change what makes Homecoming special, but to build upon it and create an even better experience for everyone. Please complete this short survey and help us shape the future of our Homecoming tradition.

Twiggs County Public Schools is excited to introduce Anonymous Alerts, a secure way for students, parents, and staff to report safety concerns.

What it is: A secure, encrypted system for anonymous 2-way communication with district officials. Report bullying, mental health concerns, or campus threats just to name a few.

STRONG ROOTS…NEW GROWTH: DAY ONE READY LEADERSHIP

Twiggs County Public Schools is proud to recognize two individuals who have stepped into important roles and have already demonstrated what it means to be DAY ONE READY — Mr. Bloodworth, Transportation Coordinator, and Mrs. Barbara Bryant, Parent & Student Advocate.

Their work did not begin on the first day of school. You could see it during Open House, as our families entered our schools and prepared for a new year. You could see it in the countless details being handled behind the scenes. And you could certainly see it in the early morning hours of Day One, when the first Twiggs County school bus pulled up to pick up a child for the 2026–2027 school year.

Both Mr. Bloodworth and Mrs. Bryant are local, invested, and connected to the community they serve. They know these families. They know these children. And they understand that serving Twiggs County is more than a job.

From summer training and fleet repairs, to community and church events, to Open House, and finally to that first bus stop on the first morning of school, their fingerprints were already on the work.

They didn't simply talk about being DAY ONE READY — they helped make Day One Ready possible.

Now the challenge for all of us is to take that strong beginning and remain YEAR LONG STRONG.

Please join us in recognizing Mr. Bloodworth and Mrs. Barbara Bryant and thanking them for the work they have already done on behalf of the students, families, and community of Twiggs County.

🎉 And just like that, Day 1 is in the books! 🎉
The hallways are buzzing, the desks are filled, and a brand-new year of learning, growth, and memory-making has officially begun! From our littlest learners taking their very first steps into kindergarten to our seniors kicking off their final chapter, today was packed with energy and excitement across the entire district.

🎉 Tomorrow is the big day! We are thrilled to welcome all our students back for the first day of school!

Our district theme for this school year is Day One Ready…Year Long Strong. Let’s set the standard on day one and keep that energy going all year.

🚌 Bus Route Info: All district buses will be running tomorrow morning. Please plan for potential first-week delays as drivers and students adjust to new bus stops and routines.

🚌 Car Rider Info: Doors will open to car riders starting at 7:30 am. All parents that are dropping off students for the first day are asked to plan to exit the buildings by 8 am so that the faculty and students can start their rituals and routines for the year! Parents will not be allowed to enter the building hallways after Wednesday, August 5th.

Get those backpacks packed, set those alarms, and let's make it a fantastic year!
