n and operate the facility. In addition to being NYS certified educators and host to the BOCES Animal Science vocational-tech program, Ed and Barbara have expanded their interests over the years by earning additional certifications and merits in their field. Ed’s passion for the livestock industry has allowed them to expand their business by creating the new livestock facility located on Likel Road, approximately one mile from their main equestrian center. Additionally, Ed holds his UKC Bench Show judging license and continues to raise and promote the Redbone Coonhound breed of dogs. Barbara has been involved in the horse industry, both for pleasure and profession, since childhood. She currently participates in the AQHA Professional Horseman Program, AQHA Show Management seminars, and is available for open horse show, judging, and clinics. “This Ole Hound”

Today I want to tell you a story
One that we all may kinda know
It’s a story about an old hound dog
And her life on this earth below

See I bought an ol hound dog
About 12 yrs ago
She was nothing more than a little pup
Full of love and a whole lotta go

From the day I first laid eyes on her
I knew she was gonna be special
And I knew she’d be worth every bit
Of the trouble she’d put me through

The first thing I had to accomplish
Was to earn her trust and love
And the only way to do that
Was to show her how much I care

Next came the basic training
The lead, come, sit, and stay
I also had to prove to her
That even I knew her name

She learned to know my voice
And to come when I called
And it wasnt very long until
She didn’t need a Leash at all

Next was learning her purpose
And boy was that fun to do
Cause she chased every critter in the woods
When I just wanted c***s

She was never perfect
Especially in her early years
Occasionally she needed correction
When that ol possum was just too easy to pursue

But over time she became steady
She missed very few
And she’d let the whole world know
Every-time she’d tree a c**n

She treed with so much passion
That she eventually began to chew
And she left her mark on every tree
That she knew had once held a c**n

She became so unshakable
In her pursuit of c***s
That she couldn’t even be bothered
By what the other hounds might do

But as all dogs must do
They grow old and gray
This is when she really learned
The purpose of her stay

She had to be an example
She had to lead the way
To teach the next generation of hound dogs
The reason they are here today

She tried to teach them better
Than she had ever been
So that they might serve her master
And make a difference

Isn’t that like us as Christians
We come full of joy and play
And then we hear a voice from above
That calls us by our name

The first thing He asks of us
Is to devote our life to Him
To give our faith, hope, and trust
And be washed of all our sins

You see that voice is Jesus
And He purchased us long ago
By paying the ultimate price
While living perfectly here below

He asks us to follow Him
To do as He commands
And when we struggle to keep up
He will take us by our hand

Next is the Great Commission
To tell others about Him
Kinda like that old hound dog
Let the world know when she found her gem

We must realize we are never perfect
Sometimes we need correction
To put us back on the straight and narrow
And to never stray from that direction

There’ll always be many distractions
But we must remain vigilant
Just like that old hound dog
Unshakable, unwavering, and confident

We may travel this world around
In our pursuit of Christ
And I hope we leave a mark
An impact on someone’s life

Our last calling comes
Perhaps when we are at our best
To teach the next generation
Of everything Christ did for us

Our goal is always simple
It’s just to follow Christ
And to lead the next group of people
To the cross where He died for us

To those who come after us
We should give our very best
So they are a better example
To the ones who will come next

We pray our lights shine bright
To bring the sinners into the rays
And to beat back the coming darkness
Of an ever darkening day

The ol hound is a perfect example
Of how our life should be
To chase our goal with a passion
Like the love Christ has for me
