The Call

The tone of the pager isn't just a sound; it’s a sudden weight in the chest. It doesn’t care if you’re in the middle of dinner, halfway through a project in the shop, or finally sitting down after a long shift. When it goes off, everything else stops.
In LaSalle Parish, neighbors don't wait for a distant crew to roll in when smoke starts rising over the pines. They look to the person next to them.

The Brotherhood

Step past the bay doors of the fire station, and the differences outside disappear. It doesn't matter what your day job is. Here, under the glare of the apparatus lights and the smell of diesel and turnout gear, everyone shares a single purpose. You gear up together, check the rigs together, and trust the person to your left and right with your life.
It’s grueling work. It means sweating through thick layers in the dead of a Louisiana summer, dragging heavy lines, and pushing past exhaustion. But when you look down the line and see your crew standing tall against the heat, you realize you're part of something much bigger than yourself.

The Legacy

Serving here isn't just about putting out fires; it’s about answering the call to protect the community that raised you. It’s the pride of seeing the trucks roll out, knowing that when LaSalle Parish is at its worst, its volunteers are at their best.
We don't just need people who can handle the heat—we need leaders. We need neighbors ready to step up, put on the gear, and protect the place we call home.

If you're interested in this opportunity, we have volunteer positions available across LaSalle Parish. Due to the demands of work and other life commitments, we require a significant number of volunteers. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you're interested, and we'll get you in contact with the local Fire Chief.

I received a call from dispatch at approximately 8:30 p.m. about a tree down across Highway 127 south of Park Street. The on-duty firefighter notified me that he would respond before I could leave the house. Upon my arrival, the tree had been sectioned and removed by the on-duty firefighter and two other firefighters. Our team received reports of multiple downed trees in the southern parish area around the same time, prompting additional volunteer response. Within three hours, we successfully cleared eight trees. The safety of LaSalle Parish is among our top priorities, reflecting our role's broader scope beyond firefighting. We prioritize safe and efficient task management, upheld by a deep love for the community and parish.
