Chief Scott McLendon and the Jena Police Department would like to congratulate Officer Kyle Robertson on graduating from the 98th Class of the Alexandria Regional Police Academy.

Kyle is not only a hardworking and dedicated young officer, but also a godly man with strong values and character. We are proud to have someone who leads with faith, integrity, and compassion serving the Town of Jena. We know he will continue to protect and serve our community in a way that honors both his badge and his beliefs.

We would also like to congratulate Deputy Rain Bozeman of the LaSalle Parish Sheriff’s Office on graduating alongside him. LaSalle Parish is fortunate to have two outstanding young officers stepping into service for our communities.

Please join us in congratulating Officer Kyle Robertson and Deputy Rain Bozeman on this accomplishment. We are proud of both of them and look forward to all they will achieve. 👮‍♂️🇺🇸

🚨 School Bus Safety Reminder 🚨

Chief Scott McLendon and the Jena Police Department would like to remind everyone that it is the law to stop for school buses when they are loading or unloading children.

When a school bus has its stop arm extended and red lights flashing, all traffic must come to a complete stop—no matter which direction you are traveling.

These laws are in place to protect our children as they get on and off the bus each day. Failing to stop not only puts lives at risk, but can also result in serious fines and penalties.

Let’s all do our part to keep our students safe. Slow down, stay alert, and STOP when the bus stops.

Across the country, law enforcement agencies are facing a growing challenge… not having enough trained, qualified officers to meet the needs of their communities.

This is not just a local issue; it’s a nationwide concern that impacts public safety, response times, and the well-being of the officers who continue to serve each day.

We ask our community to continue keeping all departments in your thoughts and prayers, and to support the men and women who answer the call to protect and serve. We also encourage those who feel called to this profession to step forward and make a difference.

Stronger communities start with support, unity, and those willing to serve.
