๐โจ Honoring an Appalachian Legend โ Dolly Parton โจ๐
Today at Burdine Elementary, we celebrated a woman who represents so much of what makes Appalachia special โ Dolly Parton.
Dollyโs story is rooted in the mountains, in hard work, in family, in giving back, and most of all, in kindness. She has never forgotten where she came from, and throughout her life she has used her success to lift others up, encourage children to dream, and remind us that treating people with love and respect matters.
That legacy connects perfectly to what our Cavaliers have focused on during our first week of school: C โ Caring Attitude. ๐
Here in Appalachia, we know the importance of looking out for one another, helping a neighbor, showing compassion, and making people feel like they belong. Those are the same qualities we want our students to carry with them every day.
Today was about more than dressing up and celebrating Dolly. It was about honoring the values she represents and reminding our students that kindness can leave a legacy.
We are proud to be Appalachian, proud of our Cavaliers, and proud to celebrate someone who has shown the world just how big a heart can come from these mountains. ๐โฐ๏ธ๐
Be kind. Be caring. Be a CAV.
