Over the last couple weeks, Jenks Public Works has been working on adding loads of mulch to the Lions Park playground area and removing some of the old wooden play equipment.

They finished adding the last of the mulch last week as a much needed improvement to the look and safety of the play area- Thank you Public Works!

TRAFFIC UPDATE⚠️

Due to the rain, the striping/painting between 111th and 116th on Elm Street (followed by the traffic switch) was delayed until this afternoon.
Painters are on site and crews will perform the traffic switch shortly after they finish painting.

Please drive slowly as crews will be on the road getting traffic lanes switched to begin work on east side of the road. Original message is below for more information.

Thank you for your patience.

Original Message- Friday, August 14th:
The contracted company will be striping/painting new lanes and implementing a traffic switch on August 17, 2026 at 9am, between 111th Street and 116th Street on Elm.
Crews will be onsite prior to 9am doing setup and prep work but will not affect or impede traffic until 9am or later.

They will paint first and then the lane closure will shift one lane to the west, leaving the furthest east (northbound) lane open so crews can work. Two lanes will remain open to keep northbound and southbound traffic open, the lanes are just shifting to the west. Drivers will be on existing road, not new asphalt.

This setup is expected to last until the entire east side is constructed. Crews have to do this to construct the widening on the east side of the road and to install the storm.

Please drive with caution and patience as crews make this lane shift.
