Officers responded to E. Academy St. after receiving a call about an approximately 7-foot alligator swimming in a residential pool! 😳

Because apparently, even the alligators in Jennings know how to find the best swimming holes. 😂

A Wildlife Wrangler was called to the scene and, with assistance from our officers, safely captured and removed the alligator from the pool.

While this makes for one heck of a photo, please remember that alligators are wild animals and should NEVER be approached, handled, or attempted to be captured by the public.

If you encounter an alligator:

🐊 Keep children and pets away
🐊 Do NOT attempt to capture or move it
🐊 Contact local authorities or a qualified wildlife professional
