Breaking Ground for the Future of Lacassine! 💧

Today, the Jefferson Davis Parish Police Jury was proud to celebrate the groundbreaking of the Lacassine Water Booster Station, a $2.86 million project that will add 300,000 gallons of water storage and improve water service reliability in the Lacassine area.

The Police Jury is proud to have donated the land and contributed $1.435 million in funding toward this important project, which is the first phase of the future Lacassine Water Treatment Plant.

A special thank you to Water and Sewer Commission #1, former State Representative Troy Romero, and State Senator Mark Abraham for their partnership and efforts in helping secure funding and move this project forward.

Also, thank you to everyone who joined us, especially Lake Arthur Mayor Poncho LeJeune, Welsh Mayor Karl Arceneaux, State Representative Reese “Skip” Broussard, Police Jury President Butch LaFargue, Police Jurors, Economic Development Board members, Tourism members, and engineering firm Meyer & Associates.

Economic development starts with infrastructure, and today we are investing in the future of Lacassine and Jefferson Davis Parish!
