Christmas Tree Recycling- The recycling center will be accepting Christmas trees for the month of January Only! The Borough DPW Truck will go around Friday's and Monday's to collect, Please make sure the trees are not bagged and/or have any decorations on them. Thank you

Yesterday, the Jermyn DPW put up the holiday lights. Let the season begin!

Tomorrow, Tuesday, October 12th will be the last day for branch and brush chipping for the season. Leaf collection will begin next Monday, October 18th. Please rake your leaves to a pile at the edge of your property and do not bag. The chipper cannot enter dead-end alleyways.

We have recently found out that the Lackawanna Recycling Center will not be accepting any types of brush or branch recycling until May 1st. Due to this, the chipping truck will not begin this year until Monday, May 3rd. Please do not put any piles out prior to May 3rd.

Some helpful reminders to help get us through the storm:

• Please remember and adhere to alternate parking rules.

• if you have a driveway, it’s best to park in it until the weather event is over.

• once the snow begins, please do your best to stay off the roads.

• Don’t forget our firefighters. If you live near a hydrant, please consider taking some time to shovel out a 3 foot section around each hydrant. It could make a huge difference in the event of a fire in your area.

The Jermyn DPW will end leaf collection on Tuesday, December 1st in order to prepare the equipment for winter plowing. Any leaves put out after this time will not be collected until spring. In addition, Brush and branch collection will not resume until spring also.
