Jerome State Historic Park The Douglas Mansion has been an eye-catching landmark in Jerome since 1916, when James S. Douglas built it on the hill just above his Little Daisy Mine.

This former home is now a museum devoted to the history of the Jerome area and the Douglas family. SOCIAL MEDIA POLICY

Join the Park Rangers and Master Gardeners at the Douglas Mansion for the Fall Outdoor Discovery series beginning in September., Yippee!!
Celebrate with the Grandkids on National Grandparents weekend September 12-13th. We'll have Nature Journaling on Saturday, 9:30-11:30a.m. on the porch and property. Free event & supplies provided. Sunday is the "Native Plant Talk & Walk" with the Yavapai County Master Gardeners. Please come prepared for outdoor activities such as good walking shoes, camera, water and sun protection. Museum admission is required for visitors wanting to visit the exhibits, see the history film and spend time perusing all the amazing rooms and displays throughout the historic buildings.

We learned alot last night at Jerome State Historic Park's first ever Bat Walk! One, bats don't like windy, rainy conditions. So kudos to all the participants willing to get a bit wind blown and drizzled on! Two, once the winds and rain die down and the insects come out, it's show time! The Canyon, Cave Myotis & Silver Hair bats were just a few of our bats visiting last night and it was a joy to hear & see them! Thank you all that joined us for the Bat Walk. We look forward to the next time - stay tuned for announcement!

Women's history is the focus for this Saturday's speaking engagement. Join us as we learn from Sally Jackson of Sharlot Hall & of the Jordan Family.
Just as the portrait of Frances Willard Munds portrays, women were strong pillars in the Jerome & Verde Valley communities. Once a teacher, Munds went on to become the 1st woman elected to the State Senate of Arizona.
We are proud to continue to offer learning experiences about the people that called Jerome & the Verde Valley home.

Oh my!
Surprises we find in the pocket prairie on the Douglas Mansion estate -
Native grasses and wildflowers have provided a covered and yummy home to much of our 4+ legged creatures here at the State Park.
We are proud to have the opportunity to provide them an ecosystem that they can thrive in.
